My explanation as to why there are so many available is ...
because nobody wants them.

And you know Wrascal, who knows, maybe this will actually become
a trend. Because evidently there have been brands making watches
with the crown over on the left side of the case all this time. So maybe
just maybe it will become a thing with more brands. Causing everybody
to suddenly want them. 😄😊

I get it but I'm also a right-handed traditionalist and a 4 o'clocker at that. A crown's another fine facet that you want to be noticed or personally appreciate when it's peaking out of your cuff too.
The lefty chunky dive and big pilots make sence, have you seen some of the crown marks people wear? The 4 o'clock configuration mends that wound but if calibres complications are limited by the traditioanall 3 o'clock I'm glad there are craftsmen that mix it up and keep them coming.

I understand all that, I'm simply stirring the pot trying to get some involvement.

Another possible reason is the fault of all those people(s) that drive on the wrong side of the road.
