Tonight I was rehearsing with my band. We are working on a David Bowie medley as tribute in light of his contribution to modern music and his recent death. We are mashing 5 tunes together and each one is really just an excerpt. and needs to be about 1 and 1/2 minutes long.
Th bass player said “I can time to excerpts, just let me go to my car for my phone”. I said”No, I got it”.
I told the boys to begin and right before the first note of each piece, I depressed the button to activate the second had on my Old Wakmann Chrono. Immediately after the last note, I looked at the minutes register and the large red seconds counter and was able to time these excerpts of songs to the second. Before the next one, I simply returned the registers to zero and did it again.
That is what a chronograph is for....at least to me
