Hello all, I am a strapmaker and one of the bonuses is when people send in watches to get straps made for them. I don't need the watch to make a strap but if it has fixed or unique lugs having the watch on hand always leads to a better product.

I have received this watch from a client to make a strap for and I was wondering if anyone had any information about a manufacture date? it looks to be older but I do not know. No markings on the back, fixed lugs, overall width is 28mm with the crown and 31mm tall not including the lugs.

I am just curious and with a brief internet search I could not find a photo of this particular watch.

I will post another photo later with the replacement strap.

Thank you.

Considering Rolex was originally a brand based in London in 1905 (moving to Geneva around 1920), this could be a model from the early 1900s. You might want to try a google image search for the case (sans the strap) and see what it shows up.

My initial search shows similar cases, but not that exact one.

I had a similar experience when I was working on a strap for a watch that didn’t have much info online. I ended up comparing it to some of the best replica Rolex models for design clues and it really helped in figuring out the style and fit. Sometimes, it’s about piecing together what you can find and getting creative. If you’re stumped, reaching out to vintage watch forums can be a goldmine for insights.
