Let me start by stating that I am not employed by the company behind this brand, have no ties with them but are just a punter that sometimes buys their offerings. I have mentioned this before: I have no clue how they are able to sell their watches to retail customers at the prices they do. The watch I just bought was $190. The Seiko movement used is approximately $35 in the volume they must purchase. The case is a true mono block case so that requires some special tooling. PVD coating means an extra expenditure as does the sapphire crystal. The dealer wants his cut as well. And still they seem to be able to make a profit. And to my opinion they don't cut corners when it comes to finishing. As some of my esteemed fellow forum members can attest to, it's absolutely up to scratch. How do they do it?

The great majority of [insert famous brand] smartphones are made in China but that doesn't seem to matter to many and I'm not convinced the workers there are 'happy campers'. My thoughts were that the production and export of goods like these is stimulated to acquire vast amounts of foreign currency over a number of years. Russia did the same in the 70s with their dead cheap optical equipment like cameras. But perhaps this is no longer necessary.
