Firstly Happynew to you all.

I have been given a zenith xl-tronic watch and no very little about it.
There is a number in the back 01 0020 505
The only thing I can find on line is that it uses some work of tuning fork??
Sorry for my total lack of knowledge regarding this.

I was told that it requires a service so I took it to a watch shop in Solihull and they quoted me 445 pounds to send it to zenith, money is tight after Christmas so I don't want to pay any more than the watch is worth.

Can any of you experts,collectors shed any light on my watch please.

Kind regards

Welcome to our fine forum! After I Googled Zenith XL-tronic it returned 220,000 results. Among them the calibre used (ESA 9164 tuning fork) and the current market value, between EUR 390 and EUR 599 NOS. (= New Old Stock).

What do the numbers mean:

01 0020 505 ->

01 = is the case and band material (stainless steel and leather);
0020 = is the case and dial style;
505 = the type of movement used (a Bulova based ESA 9164 movement).

So I also have a question: which search engine did YOU use? :D :D
