Nothing perks-up a Monday better, than receiving a new arrival to the collection. My latest, a vintage 1970, automatic, King Seiko.

Watch collecting can always provide an education, and it was interesting to learn about the two factories Seiko ran back in the late 1950s, Suwa Seikosha, and Daini Seikosha; one dedicated to the manufacture and design of Grand Seiko, the other, King Seiko, both comparable hi-beat, higher quality Seiko pieces of that time, predating the modern, Spring-Drive Grand Seikos. Not to mention designer Toro Tanaka's design rules, that became the rule for any Grand Seiko or King Seiko timepieces manufactured during this era, prominent in this example.
