I have an Invicta Ocean Ghost with tie NH35A movement. The question is, can I damage the movement by hand winding to much? I don't wear the watch a lot so I am hand winding it every other day. Is it better to let it sit and set the time when I wear it? I don't own a winder, but looking into that.

You can let it sit and wind it once a month to keep the lubricants fluid and distributed properly. That's the general rule. A few months at a time idle is even fine. I don't go much over that though. Winders aren't necessary.

You can't over wind a modern automatic. They all have a clutch mechanism that prevents over winding of the main spring. I've owned the Ocean Ghost and it has a clutch for sure so no worries about over winding.

Just like Spaceview said You cannot overwind the NH35
Have an NH35 which I hand wind frequently because i have 2
winders and 4 other mechanicals.
Further, thru my investigations, I've learned the S11 NH35 engine
is half brother to the Seiko 4R36. Both hand wind and can be hacked
FYI.

Wont hurt it to wind it every day but if that particular model has a screw down crown be careful there.
