Maybe an odd question but a friend of mine just got a new GMC Sierra issued to him as a work vehicle. Without getting into specifics it's his forever but he is going thru a messy divorce and I wanted to get him a nice gift to help him thru this.
He has a few watches but I wanted to get him one. The truck is loaded with leather 4 doors and a nice silver color. What is a nice piece that would compliment this truck?

That is an odd question. Never heard of matching your truck to your watch..

What is your budget anyways?

This.

What are the specific requirements to be a 'truck appropriate' watch? Without some more specifics, people will probably answer a different question: "What watch do you like?"

Which isn't all that specific :)

I would suggest just searching through the Seiko options at various websites. You know your friend (and the truck) better than we do, so I'm sure something will jump out at you.

This one jumped at me on Overstock.com, for $166:

Seiko SSB123P1 Chronograph

If I were buying for myself, I'd want a Solar quartz, but I still wouldn't turn this one down if a buddy of mine gave it to me to help drown my divorce sorrows

***(although, I'd be just as appreciative if he gave me a nice 1.75 liter bottle of Old #7: $200 is a lot to spend on this sort of occasion, even for a life-long pal).

For $300 I would get him a Timex and a $200 hooker.

Does he just own a pickup, or does he drive a semi? Either way, something rugged and dependable.

Something like this:
Timex Intelligent Quartz Racing Flyback Black Dial Oiled Leather Belt T2n700 Men https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005PVGOTU/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_ME96vbY4AVNPA

Or this:
Timex Men's TW2P72500DH Intelligent Quartz Collection Analog Display Quartz Brown Watch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YTYBZEI/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_KG96vb2YX5BQW

But the bottle of Jack would be my choice. Or Jim beam, or red stag. Or a bottle of Masako if you want to be "high class" lol.

O.K. Lets see Mudfoot. Picked out a few models that he wouldn't have to worry about winding for you, and kind of match those criteria...:)

Citizen Nighthawk on mesh...
