What are B&R watches like? DAMIFINO
Never had enuff filthy lucre in my jeans pocket to buy or own one
Saw one in a local pawn shop. $1,500.00 TT&L.
Asked pawn shop owner if I could leave a deposit on the B&R to
take it to my fave watchmaker to be given authenticity check.Guy
said NO! (Red Flag!!!!)
Noticed the B&R had a red crown. No B&R logo on strap. Queried
B&R site. They said the watch was a FAKE! Saved myself coins of
the realm and being humiliated by my watch buds for buying a FAKE

Live n learn.

Oh man desibaba, really wish I knew, or could help with this ! :(
I mean from a far they look fantastic, and they have so many
terrific watches. Like the one you are showing !

But really couldn't tell you how they compare to those other
companies in quality, and everything. I don't think they have
been around that long, and are a very young company still.

Maybe someone else will be able to help, or has some experience. :)

Out of all the ‘instrument’ series I like this one best although my preference lies with the vintage inspired ones. It’s based on an ETA movement and being not chronometer grade expect around 10 seconds deviation per day.

As I have never owned one I can’t fill you in on your other questions.

When B&R started out in business making military inspired watches, they had their watches made by Sinn in Germany for around 10 years, after which they moved their operation to a place of their own in Switzerland. Some of their earlier watches had " Bell & Ross - made by Sinn" on the dials.

When compared to the likes of Panerai, Omega and Breitling, B&R are a relatively young company that produce reliable & robust tool watches. However, further comparisons with these brands would be a tad lopsided imo.

They make nice watches and are reliable. They use ETA mvts and mine ran well, within CoSC though not cosc certified. Their cases are very nice and well finished.
Resale is the sticky point, buy low. They don’t bave strong resale value.

I've owned two back in the day. Fit and finish is good. They don't use any inhouse movements but in the future that may change.

If you buy make sure you buy at a great discount as the brand takes a big hit if you decide to sell.

I have been eyeing them on Chrono 24 and they definitely have a unique look. In build quality and reliability and resale value how would they compare to Omega, Panerai or Breitling?

Resale value is not good. Buy used from reputable seller would be preferred.
