In 1883, a Winterthur watchmaker by the name of Gottilieb Hauser brainstormed the idea for the Swiss Watchmakers Corporation (Schweizerische-Uherenmacher-Genossenschaft) as a distributor of standardized Swiss watch components. Once the word got out, other watchmakers rushed to join this organization with the guarantee that it would boost their productivity and output. Eventually SUG, as it was later dubbed, evolved to the point that it was not only distributing parts, but creating them as well.

Jacot Columbus Automatic Multi Function - $54
This timepiece from Jacot displays a triad of functions that whether together or apart... create a wonderful rhythm all their own. The dial shows elegantly fashioned ebony Roman numerals along with exquisite guilloché textures. An intriguing window to the south gives us a brief yet curious glimpse at the balance wheel that is just one of many parts of the automatic movement within. Above rests two subsidiary dials that provide more knowledge for the timekeeping functions you need. Indeed the sub-dial to the right keeps you abreast of the date of the month while the dial to the left works in synchronicity between the 24 hour and sun/moon dials so that your timepiece can distinguish between day and night. Finally, a handsome stainless steel bracelet slips around your wrist and offers a sleek finish to such an incredible watch design.
-Case-
40mm x 13.25mm 3 piece, 316 series stainless steel case
Screw-down case back
K1 hardened mineral crystal
Exhibition back w/ decorated Côtes de Genève bridges & rotor

Visible balance window
Date subsidiary dial
Combination 24-hour & day/night subsidiary dial

-Band-
180mm x 20mm 316 series stainless steel bracelet

James,

I have never uses Ubid, but I have used @Auction and they pretty much sell the same kind of watches. SUG, BUZZ, JACOT, Bernouli are all Chinese watches that are shipped to a place in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and then they are placed on these bidding sites with no reserve. I have purchase about 6 watches from them and they have all been great watches. Sure there Chinese Made, but for the money they are nice and work well.

Thank you sir. That is what I have heard. I might buy one of these for $29 just to see how it looks when it arrives and do a review of it.

Can you post some pics of a few you have purchased?

I don't think you can go wrong for $29. It might be a great way to try out the brand and see if future purchases are warranted! :)

I can only address the S.U.G. having dealt through a few, they seem to be a quality China Mvt. watch.
S.U.G., if you Google them are a very old watch parts manufacturers and suppliers that recently, I believe about 20 years ago, started doing their own watches.

As for the site, I am a member but I don't recall ever buying or selling anything there, sorry.
