The new Ray and Mako have a new movement! ORIENT Cal. F6922 Automatic, Hand-winding, Hacking Movement :smile-thumb2:

They also got rid of the second crown at the 2:00 position. All day/date/time will be set with one screw down crown.

No Sapphire, but not a deal breaker in my opinion.

Check them out at:

Pretty nice...
No solid end links, no sapphire, but everything else you'd expect from a solid diver? And at $185 at LIW?

Orient has proven itself, IMO, and the improvements plus a the price. This pretty much puts it exactly on par with a Seiko SKX007/9K, and slightly cheaper.

Don't forget you can get an additional $10 knocked off at LIW with code DIVE10.

Someone on another forum posed the question for a USA version meaning solid end links and sapphire crystal and Orient USA (vendor) replied that they were unsure at this time, but maybe in the future.

Thanks for the post.
I'm in the "glad it's gone" group with regard to that pusher @ the 2 position. I may take a second look with this new model

Personally I like the pusher @ 2 makes it a little unique and I like the way it looks.

I didn't mind the look, necessarily, either. As you said, it was unique, and I dig unique.
However, from a mechanical perspective having only one crown seems to be a lot more functional and safe. One screw down crown as opposed to two creates less points of failure over the life of the watch. For that, I'd have to say this is definitely an improvement.

Funk:
You so made out like a bandit on this aquisition tain't funny.
Got a heads/up from Bro Marc at the Island too.

But saving my shillings for a King Casio from the Zon. GWX 56.

Baddest, biggest G ever built.SIL has one with red pushers.

Casio has sold 36,000,000 G's since 1983. I wonder why?

I was recently experimenting with couple of bracelets for my Ray II, and to cut a short story shorter, I settled on Strapcode's Miltat Super Engineer ver.1 with straight end links.

The exposed case between the lugs due to the straight end links makes the Ray II look chunkier, a positive in my book.
