Kinda empty in here lately?
A while back I resolved to keep my watch collection modest, and not keep any more watches than would fit in my 8 slot box (not counting heirlooms and side projects). That has worked out well for the last year or two, but as I thin out the herd to make room for a couple incoming purchases, I noticed how empty it looks. Right now, my actual rotation consists of just these 4 watches!
I have the G.Gerlach Enigma arriving soon (maybe?), I will be buying a new Seiko SRP77X model, and am setting some money aside for the new Bulova Moonwatch as well. As of right now, that is it (unless things go well for me this year and then a Tudor Black Bay Black is a possibility!).
A couple years ago I had upwards of 30 watches at a time, now I am sitting here with these 4. I guess the hobby changes for everyone at some point.

4 great watches. I, like you, am down to 4 also. And perfectly happy with that.
I still LOVE watches, just love the 3-4 I have an wear a lot.

Your collection is still pretty great. Thanks for sharing.

I keep meaning to downsize but the "oh I always wanted that one" factor gets me every time. Then I'm forced to only sell when I need a watch badly. I'm kinda jealous that you were able to do it. Very happy for you. I'm feeling inspired. Thanks for sharing.

Okay, it is back up a little due to a few impulse buys :)

I did grab that Tisell sub, a Seiko "Bloody Monster", and a new Seiko SRP777 "Turtle" which should arrive today I believe.

Later this year I will most likely pick up one of the Bulova Moonwatches as well, but other than that I have no plans for anything else for a while. That will fill the box back up to full capacity.

I'm especially interested in the Seiko Turtle re-edition and how it stacks up against the Lamafa Vintage.

Garrick,
I wish I could part with some of mine. Will be gifting some, but when I don't wear a watch for awhile (2-3 years in some cases, less with others) I find myself rediscovering them all over again. The fun starts over. This, I beleive keeps the collection # in the stratosphere. I'm about 58 pieces (wife & I have 116 I think between us). I ordered another 10 minutes ago.
A much better stratagy might be to pick a number and stick to it. That would be the hard part. Therapy might be in my future.

But hey, it's watches, not a serious addiction. (or so I tell myself)

Pelican case?
Invicta actually. They were on sale a couple years ago, and even thought I avoid Invicta watches as a rule, the Pelican-like case was a great deal. I plastered stickers over the outside of it to hide the logo :)

Lol ... I've experienced the opposite effect. I pared my collection down to 7 watches ... and slowly but surely climbed back up now to about a dozen again. Where do they all come from? I've even been selling pretty consistently too. I guess I'm hopeless. We should all aspire to be Garrick ;) .

To b fair, I keep all the watches I wear in one box. I refuse to get another box, or enlarge the one I have. I've had dozens at once before, and I just don't need that in my life right now.

Not to say that it might happen again in the future, but I doubt it.

Lol, okay, I've done that too. Now I have 8 in box and about 4 stragglers floating around someplace. Seems that is not a limitation for me :p .

Nice collection of 4 BTW ;) .

Four great watches is a great collection, especially because you can wear all of them.
I have eight, none expensive, and it is really as many, or a couple more, than I want. I like to wear them several days straight. It is actually a problem, because I want other watches, not more watches, but I don't want to get rid of any that I have. Someday I will figure out this great conundrum.

Watches are like wire coat hangers that reproduce in your closet like rabbits.

Very proud of myself to have gotten down to only 18 watches with only 2 that I could see parting with and even those wax and wane. :)
