Some of you may have noticed that I wasn't around for the past week while others may not have noticed at all LOL!!! I was soaking up the sun in beautiful Hawaii. I stayed in Oahu and Maui. I will add a few pics here and there to this thread when I have some free time. If you haven't been to Hawaii I would strongly encourage you to do it. It's a beautiful place. Enjoy!!

Hey Rob, just checked out the first group of photos Bro. Great shots of a great area of "the planet"! The "Monument" always gets to me as it represents so much.

You picks serve as a reminder to me that there are places that I would still like to take Linda to that I haven't as of yet and for me, time ain't gettin any longer that's for sure ............. especially at my age. Gotta get on the stick and start movin around. Still places to go, things to do and people to see, LOL!!!

Thanks for sharing those Bro! Oh! Who's that wild & crazy guy that you took the pics of??!! Didn't I see his pic on the Post Office wall?? :lol:lol

Thanks everyone. Arnie, I too get very emotional when I think of that tragic day when Pearl Harbor was attacked. There are still 22 remaining survivors from the USS Arizona. Each time one of them passes away there is a special ceremony at Pearl Harbor and their ashes are placed in an urn and taken down below and placed in the sunken ship. Legend has it that when all 22 remaining survivors are finally placed aboard the ship with their fellow fallen crewmates then the USS Arizona will no longer leak oil into the harbor.

Thanks Rob for sharing you vacation photos. I did not know about the US Arizona surving crew members story and legend. That is such a sad place due the tragedy of Pearl Harbor. Besides that, it looks like you were having too much fun, which is great to do, once in awhile, :b! Looking forward to seeing more of your great photos. ....Bob

Ken,

My wife and I only planned to visit Pearl Harbor for a few hours with our busy schedule, but once there we cancelled our plans for the remainder of the day and spent the entire day paying our respects to the many men and women that gave up their lives serving and protecting our country. Goose bumps is a very accurate description of how I felt walking the deck of the USS Missouri and looking out over battleship row. All I could think about was all the soldiers that were burried alive under the water of the harbor. I think it was the most memorable part of my vacation.

Great pics, Hawai'i is just plain awesome. Me and the wife went there on our honeymoon, but we stayed on the Big island. That is paradise, the only thing I didn't like was the 13 hour flight over there. but I'd still go in a heart beat.

Our flight was about 7 hours each way from Vegas to Honolulu. A little long for sure, but once they open that cabin door the sweet smell of ocean air and the feel of warm humidity comes over you then theflight time quickly dissipates. The flight back sucks big time because when they open the cabin door you quickly realize you're back in the hot desert dry heat of Nevada LOL!!!
