As orologo suggested in this post: http://www.watchfreeks.com/view_post.php?post_id=53659, when commenting a couple days ago about my watch collection, I could enjoy another get together, this time, a FGT. I know that there are a few SoCal members here on WF, and if only a few would consent to come, a smaller gathering than the large gathering that we had in November 2009 (for the other forum) just might be possible. I am sorta down on the gatherings at the other place especially after all that rebuff we got concerning giveaways, so I doubt that I would ever attend another one of those.

But, if there are a few WF members who would like to get together and share a good time, I would be very happy to participate in organizing the event. I will not speculate here, today, on where this gathering should be held, depending on who wishes to attend, I would wish to keep the location centered so that we all could have as equal as posible travel distances and time. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from.

If that does not work, when the weather warms and the beautiful springtime arrives, Imight (not certain at this point!) consider opening my home for a much more personal and small gathering of WFs --- all watches would be quite safe.

I have a beautiful home in the northern LA County foothills (other side of the mountain) with a large and beaurifully landscaped back yard, plenty of seating, shade, completely private, music, and I havehosted a few other small gatherings of friends on occasion. Something to think on. Tons of work for me, but always enjoyed by others.

Let's hear your suggestions, and I hope since orologo suggested a GTG, he would participate in its organization.

OK, Thanks Tuna . . . and TV (even though you are FAR away . . .)

Let's get this thing started, this thread probably is as good as any to get it off the ground . . .

Therefore, please post a reply in this thread if you are interested in attending a WatchFreeks GTG in the coming months? Please include this information in your post:

1. Your WatchFreeks User Name (real name not needed at this time)

2.Your location --- where you would be driving from

3. An aproximate date in APRIL that is good for you (we need some time to collect the attendees, decide on a fair location, then decide on a place)

4. ---VERY IMPORTANT --- Indicate if you wish to participate in organizing this gathering. Much has to be done, a date, time, place has to be obtained, etc.

I will leave this post open for your input until SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2010. On March 1, 2010 we (those who have indicated that they will participate in the organization of this gathering) will decide if a GTG is feasible and then ask for suggestions as to the date, time, place.

Your input is most welcome !!

Well, this post has been here for a week now with no responses from anyone (from SoCal) except for Eric (tuna). It appears that there is little interest in a SoCal Freeky gathering, or maybe I am not the one to try to organize such a GTG, or perhaps April is not a good time for it.

This post is open to anyone's suggestions as to date, time, place, or anything else applicable.

BUT, it looks, then, like Eric and I will probably be enjoying another nice lunch together, perhaps sometime in April,at Houston's in Pasadena . . .

AGAIN, anyone interested in a SoCal GTG, specially for LA area Freeks, please post your thoughts. If there are only a few (5 or 6 or so) interested, it does not matter the number of Freeks interested, we will do our best to do somethingREALLYNICEto accomodate everyone.

Let's hear from you !!

It appears as there is little or no interest in a SoCal (LA Area) Freeky GTG since no replies except for one have been received. Even the gentleman who first suggestedwe get togetherin his reply to another post of mine has not replied here.

Again, this post will remain open until the end of the month (Feb 2010) after which time it will no longer be monitored and hopefully closed by the moderator . . .

UNLESS . . . THERE IS SOME INTEREST EXPRESSED IN A FREEKY GTG BEFORE THEN . . . THEN THE POST CAN STAY OPEN FOR PLANNING ETC.

Many thanks to all . . .

Well, it appears as though there is no interest now in a SoCal Freeky GTG, or probably I am not the right person to organize it.

Therefore, I will no longer monitor this thread. Should someone else wish to try their hand at organizing a SoCal GTG, please do.

Perhaps a moderator would please close this thread.

Thanks to all.

Hey John. I think as we continue to grow as a forum there will be more people living closer together and a better change for a local gathering in each region. thank you for trying!
