makes me wonder if any of the 300m tunas would still work at 1000m.

I love the look of the 1000m tunas, but they wear way too large for everyday use.

Very cool. This experiment has been performed before by a Swiss brand many years ago and the reason the hands stopped was because the (acrylic) crystal was compressed so much it touched the hands and in the process stopping them. Not a toy watch, that's for sure!

Going to trebble the rated depth and to still be ticking away that is truly amazing.

Seiko tests all their dive watches to at least 25% over their stated WR. I'd be willing to bet a 300m Tuna is going to be good for about twice its stated WR, if not more. That being said, it has one more point of failure than the 1,000m models since it has a screw down case back.

Good to know that even if you don't dive, it'll survive "bath time" with the kiddies :)
LOL true. Or the occasional dip in the pool.

On another note, while testing watches at more than 1000 meters is pretty impressive, there's no practical application for it as most divers can only go as deep as about 40 meters on average. The deepest dive a human has ever done was about 330 meters.
