Seiko Sarg009 arrived, really nice watch, to my surprise the bracelet fit my 8” wrist right out the box with no adjustments, although there is and extra miicro-adjustment hole left to make it even larger. Fit, finish and case work is akin to a $1K watch, which is outstanding for a $350 watch.

Watch is extremely comfortable to wear and sits nice and flush on my wrist. Watch hacks and hand winds, being a 6R15 movement. Crown doesn’t screw down, but it is rated at 100m WR so I’m sure the gasket system is up to speed for pool time.

Only minuses on this watch is lack of AR on the sapphire crystal, and the clasp on the bracelet. The bracelet is brushed faux three link, looks and feels fine, but the clasp does not sit flush on the bracelet when closed, I have read about this on other reviews, and this minor hiccup isn’t a deal breaker for me and if it eventually does bother me, I will throw a Hadley Roma mesh bracelet on it instead.

To insure domestic tranquility, this is the last watch purchase for the year!

Update, just came back from a 5 day trip to the "Big Easy" New Orleans.

First time there, My wife talked me out of taking my gun with me (I can carry concealed in the entire country being a retired P.O.) so I left all of my premium watches at home, just in case.

Rode on the plane back and forth with a Citizen AT World Timer so as to change the time zones easier. Once there I wore this Seiko Sarg009 exclusively for 5 days, wore it back on it's bracelet due to the heat and humidity there.

The watch wore comfortably, yet classy and went under the radar, only saw a couple of "nice" ( a Sub and a Panerai) watches my entire time there. Guess everyone else was more into feeling safe, not sorry with their watch choices also.

This was my first time in NOLA, and my first impression was pretty good, I was surprised by Bourbon street, as to how narrow the street was, it was like a side street in Chicago.

The place was hopping the entire time we were there, and didn't care for the crowds on the weekends, it was busy enough during the week days. I definitely wouldn't want to punish myself by being there during Madi Gras.

Getting back to the Seiko, it gained 5 seconds for the entire trip, it's currently running at +1. For $350 for this watch, who needs a Rolex Explorer for $6,000?
