It's a vessel to bring sea pilots to the larger ships they are guiding into one of the bigger harbours located in the Rotterdam port area. From that vessel they step onto smaller boats (a launch) that bring them alongside those ships. Approximately 10 miles off shore.Frans, yet another fantastic picture, and love the close-up view
of the boat, or boats too here as well ! 😮😀..I almost feel like I
can feel the water moving, as well as the wind blowing from here.
It's really something how photos can give us such a feeling, or
generate such a reaction imho. And on top of that, just like in
life you are always finding out new things, or discovering those
details that you maybe missed the first time around.
I'm looking at it, and seeing so many neat details actually Frans,
from the look of the hull, to the different levels, nooks, and crannies,
cool wires, and flags. All of it, not to mention the water, as well as
big brother right beside it, and the pier behind everything. It really
is fantastic !
Frans, can you tell us anything about those ships? What type
are they? Or what are they used for I mean? ..Oh, and as always,
thanks so so much for taking the time to show us around !!!![]()

I have mentioned this before but both the clock and the typeface used for the name of the station are exact copies of the former (equally iconic) Central Station. They did this as an homage to that station. Rotterdam's central station is the only one in The Netherlands without a city designation in the name. It's just 'Centra(a)l Station, not Rotterdam Centra(a)l Station.O.K. now this is a really great shot too Frans !Have
to thank you for posting yet another stunning pic !!!
Man oh man, I can feel the height of that ceiling from here
actually. 😯 It’s remarkable sir ! 😲 You almost get vertigo
from staring at the picture, it’s that dynamic. And how about
that window, and ceiling itself? ..It looks like it is all made of
wood. Wow, beautiful ! ..It’s reminiscent of a cathedral to
tell the truth. But is even larger in scale, and scope it seems
Frans.
Oh, and I love what look to be Christmas lights on the
windows, and of course the giant clock ! 😊

This needs no introduction:I love that they did that Frans, because it really shows how important
the history is to the builders, and actually everyone in general there.
Then the Central Station not having a city name next to it is fascinating
as well sir. ..I guess everyone knows Rotterdam needs no introduction
right?! 😀

Yes Tom: SS Rotterdam I have already show some pictures about this ship plus some explanation. I took the pictures from a rotating restaurant at 42 meters height. (It takes the restaurant 7 minutes to fully ascent on its supporting column). One more question, 😊do you by chance know anything about that
ship there? ..No matter what, thanks a ton for the great pics as always
sir !!!
