Nice. You've showcased most of your hometown already by way of some stills but good to see it on video.

Markthal looks like an interesting apartment complex.

Mijn dochter is getrouwd met een Van Vuuren
The Markthal, an over-ambitious project from the start, has lost over a third of its businesses. Partly because of lockdown but the decline has started years ago. A monthly rent of 10,000 Euro for an average unit doesn’t help either. The building has been bought by a French investment company. They vowed to stop the decline but how isn’t known yet.

Man that is cool Frans ! 😀😎

In a lot of towns, or cities, this one building would be the main
highlight, or landmark to look for. But here, it's just one terrific
preview of what is to come within the city really. 😉AND you
don't have to choose to enjoy that building in person, and up
close either. Because you can view it in panoramic form with
the waterway too ! 😵(y)(y) ..That right there is yet another
epic highlight of the city !

Have to thank you once again for making it always feel like
we are right there sir !!!

Witte Huis - a lovely example of Art Nouveau architecture. What's it used for?
Several architects, small businesses and start-ups. One of the first office buildings with a private telephone exchange and miraculously spared from the bombings. The picture is an older one I took myself from a river cruise boat (Spido) and the Westermeijer sign (former owner) is gone now. Westermeijer Sr. (only you can pronounce this) was owner of a large real estate and project development company who funded the complete restoration (including the appalling former work on the roof section) of the building. Many Rotterdammers are still grateful that he did. It's a beautiful building with several cafés and bars at ground level. They kept many of the inside pre-war attributes, among them the elevator.

Hey awesome Frans, it’s been a while since you gave a
look around there. 😀😎 Thanks so so much !!!

What an great shot too ! 🛳😲😉 The way the ship looks
is epic, and together with the buildings in the back, it is
like a part of the city. It’s stunning ! ..And May I ask, do
the ships always drop by? Is it a destination for a lot of
cruise ships? If so, that must be amazing to always have
a chance to see.

In any case, it is fantastic picture, and I can imagine that
those fortunate enough to be on that ship have a fantastic
time in Rotterdam. 🙂

Yes, about one or two per week during the season but this one is the first with passengers since the lock down. It's one of the smaller ones, I think 1950 passengers.

Well that is incredibly cool Frans, and just the fact that there
is any cruise ship making an appearance like this is terrific to
hear about. Let alone with people on it as you said. (y)(y)

Really appreciate the look, along with report sir !!!

Oh wow, this shot is stunning honestly ! :D

You can see so far, as well as see so much here it's not even
funny Frans. 😎🤯 And you what's also funny sir?! Is I swear
I am getting that feeling like I'm actually up there looking down
feeling the height in person. 😊But the fear is overtaken by the
amazing view of the city. Not to mention beautiful waterways
thankfully.

Frans, quick question, on the right there is this cool little island
it looks like. What is it called by chance? ..Is it actually an island?
And what is on it? Maybe apartments? Or restaurants? A museum
even? My apologies for all the questions. 😄

Thanks a bunch as always for sharing things there with all of us !!!

The island is called 'Het Noordereiland' (The Northern Island). There are appartment buildings and residential areas as well as (restored) office buildings. And in one of those (smaller) houses is where I spent the first year of my life.

Man oh man, you have this amazing city that looks as if it goes
on forever, and you just happen to live in that one section in which
I asked about?! 😮..That is remarkable, and of course unbelievably
cool to hear sir. 😀

Can't thank you enough for the insight, as well as lesson !!

Alright, let me stare at this for a little while Frans, yowza ! :D

It's like a city in the clouds, or some wonderful sci-fi scene from a
movie. Or that is in some amazing painting. o_O But Cloud City
from the Empire Strikes Back comes to mind on this end here.💫
Just is gorgeous sir, and once again, can just imagine what it's
like there in person when this is happening. Man oh man, really
is magical Frans. 😯

So now, how often does this actually happen? It's fog actually right?
No matter what it is, it's incredibly fun to see sir ! Thanks so so much !!!

It's heavy fog. This only happens only 2 or 3 times a year (photo was taken from the top of a building crane).

😉Was figuring it was, and maybe was rare possibly sir. 🙂

I know it's the first time we ever saw you show a picture like this.
So it's insanely cool to not only see, but also find out about. (y)(y)
Can imagine it's a sight to behold, and almost scary in person.

Thanks once again Frans !
