Renato Alligator Straps

Does anyone here know how to polish up or shine up an Alligator strap that is losing some of its sheen? I have one that I'm hoping I will not have to replace because it just doesn't look as good as it should.

Thanks and Happy New Years!

I saw this on another site. Don't have any personal experience but this may help.

Meltonian all purpose cleaner and conditioner and Pecard Leather Dressing are excellent for reptile leather. Using them on my alligator watch straps, crocodile cigar and pipe cases for years with brilliant results. Apply just a tiny dab once a month or so. Olive oil is also very effective if you want the natural route (but tend to leave glossy skins with a mirror shine).

Thanks for your response. Where Can I get Meltonian and Pecard Leather Dressing? The Pecard sounds absolutely great. Renato Alligator straps normally come with a high gloss shine because they are sprayed at the factory so the Olive Oil actually sounds good too. I might try that tonight.

Let us know how you like the results with the olive oil.

I have not used anything on my straps because I don't want to stain the backing...

I have thought about trying to get an Ali strap for my gunmetal Stallion. If I could get one pretty cheap, I'd buy it just for a change. I've gotten more interested in straps lately. I used to only wear bracelet watches.
