Wow, I can't get over how much this forum has grown in the three years I've been gone... I see quite a few old names from my time before, as lots of new names as well! Regardless of the names, it's nice to see that my favorite watch forum is still around. :)

For those of you that either don't know me or don't remember me, my name is Josh, and I hail from the beautiful (and hotter than hell right now) Mississippi Gulf Coast. I've been into collecting watches for several years now and have only recently gotten back into the hobby actively due to some serious personal issues that I had to work through. As a side note, divorce sucks!

I don't have a focus on any one type of watch; I collect what I like. :) Mostly, I have dive watches, but I do have a couple of higher-end digital ABC watches as well. My passion as far as watches go however has got to be Vostok; I have several Vostoks (both in the Kommandierskie and Amphibia models), with quite a few more in the pipeline for me. I also recently treated myself to a new piece to celebrate my return to the hobby, of which I'll be unveiling it when she arrives. :)

Josh:
Welcome back to the campus.
Got bitten by the Vostok buzz. Have a Kommanderiske which my daughter
promptly talked me out of. Says she'd rather wear it than her Tag Formula 1.
So I regrouped and ordered a Amphibia 1967 model. Its supposed to be in
Brooklyn NY (who knows if that's true?) he better not try to do me outta that
one. It was 106 in N E Texas yesterday if that's any consolation for Ye.

Welcome back! Have any experience with Raketa?
Admittedly, I don't but that doesn't mean I won't give one a try. :) It's really all about finding that one piece that calls my name. All of my experience with Russian/Soviet pieces has been because of Vostok.

Funk:
You are aware Raketa ships without a strap? Just the head alone.
Let's see my daughter talk me outta this Amphibia, Ain't gonna
happen.

Depends where you buy it from, from my understanding... I don't own a Raketa, yet. I bought a Chinese knock off on eBay that broke in a week one time.

Nice to meet you, and welcome back, Josh! I have a hankering for Russian pieces too. A Vostok Amphibian 420280/2416b is actually on its way, along with a Poljot and a Raketa.

Looking forward to seeing more of those Vostoks,
and other watches. ..Really like your buy whatever
you like mentality. There's so many brands, and
watches past, and present to learn about, as well
as enjoy. It's amazing ! Fantastic that you're back
having some fun with us. :clapping-hands-abov Enjoy Josh !
