Everyone has some regrets in their lives. If you feel comfortable posting about them, what are yours?

For me one is never finishing my novel or writing. Many many years ago I was a journalism major and was very good at it. I could have easily gotten a job in journalism right out of college, but chose to go a different way. I am not saying I did poorly because that is not true at all. I did very well both professionally and financially. But I do regularly wish I would have done something with the writing.

Related to that I have a novel I have been working on for close to 20 years. I have almost 70 - 100 pages done and every year I get motivated to look at it again, and a few more words are added, but nothing substantial. It bothers me, sometimes daily.

I have a few business regrets, but they mainly involved decisions I made that many years later and now in hindsight I should have done other things. But there was no possible way to know that then.

What about you.

I don't regret anything. They say your mistakes make you who you are. If I didn't do things that I did, I probably wouldn't be married to a wonderful wife and have great children.

Well..since you asked. Drank heavy for 26 years. Been sober almost 3. Many regrets along that path. Even if you think you are the only one you are hurting that's one too many. Wouldn't trade my worst day sober for my best day drunk.:wf

That's a great question, James...I don't regret anything important, nothing that would be making a difference in my life...I can be a viper with words& have occasionally regreted saying something but, that's not a life altering regret...Whenever I've made a bad choice, and I've made many, I've never looked at it with regret,I always tried to learn from it...I like where I'm at in my life right now and to regret anything would take me away from that.

Simple

I never reached the goal of Bedding 1000 women! I tried like hell for about 6 strait years and man thats a lot of Chicks. Aside of that I regret nothing really, been up and been down and I am what I am because of my failures and my successes. In the end I am that same SOB I have always been.

I will point out I am mostly proud that I didnt breed though. There is enough people that Populate the earth with Baby's to make up for my lack of Breeding thats for damned sure!

I have lots of regrets . . . too many to list.

However, I regret the pain and suffering caused to those who were closest me during my drugging years. I know that I deeply hurt some really good people.

I also regret breaking off a relationship about 18 months ago with a woman who accepted me . . . cancer and all. I guess we got too close and I couldn't handle it. Damn, what I would give to have her back . . . there's been no one since her. :(

Regrets? Nah.

That's exactly why I don't have a "Bucket" list.

I just take life as it comes. And it's not over, yet.

It may sound silly but I stop to smell the flowers everyday.

Never had a goal of 1000 but I have gone through the alphabet once, already. (Q was a little tough) :%

Really good thread James. Me personally have no regrets. Anything I have done was for a reason good or bad. It is what it is and made me the man I am today. So no regrets for me...

all joking aside by some above, everyone has legit regrets. everyone. if you didn't then you would be living the perfect life, which we all know does not exist in the real world.

regrets, i have many, starting with failed relationships where i know i was the reason for them failing due to my shitty attitude at the time. business opportunities i passed on that ended up being home runs. many positives in my life, but obviously many regrets as well.

I was gonna do a long dissertation on this thread, but thought better of it. Just gonna say that one should certainly follow their dreams and stop at nothing to get there. Those are the people that find true self fulfillment. JMHO.
