I really do have a problem I think....

Been looking at Hamilton's for a while now and finally pulled the trigger on a khaki king auto. I went with a slightly older model to get the ETA 2836-2 movement.
I also liked that this one is 40mm instead of 42mm. Of course, it had to be on a bracelet.
Im not sure I'm completely sold on the day/date being at 12, but i guess ill see how it goes. Should be in next week.

I've always been a Hammie lover dating back to my train driving days
First was the Hammie 992b 21 jewel size 16 RR grade pocket watch
Then the Hammie 950b 23 jewel size 16 RR grade pocket watch.

Kept both until Dec 2018 and like a dunce sold em to buy wristies.

The Hamilton was supposedly due on money but was delayed with USPS for some reason and it appears to be scheduled for delivery today.
Unfortunately, I started a 48 hour shift this morning so I won't see it until sometime Sunday so my wife will have to stalk the mailbox.

WM - A real classic design. I think you'll enjoy the day/date at the top. I've got a Hammy with the day at the top & date at bottom (a Scuba). I like it because it's different. Enjoy!!

It's just the best when you know a watch is worth the wait WM ! :smile1:

Really is so cool, and classic like Roarry pointed out, and the day,
and date kicks things up like he said as well. :eek3: Wow, could stare
into that dial all day long really. It's simple, and traditional, but is
also complicated, and fascinating all at once ! Yup, you definitely
don't have a problem like Steve said either. :) ..Enjoy this !

A giant congrats once again sir !!!

Delayed at USPS (aka "Snail Mail") That's a tune I've heard before!!!!
Ordered what I considered a Hi End Bulova from the Zon. Watch made
it ok to my town USPS arrival point then fell into the "Black Hole" never
to be seen again. Notified the Zon and they sent a duplicate "Next Day
Delivery". Arrived on time and not by Snail Mail
Moral of the story? Order everything Next Day Delivery.
BTW. The Zon has their new facility in Ft Worth Tx. Everything is next
day delivery now.

so....the watch has arrived.

however, it did NOT come with all links and was too tight on my wrist for me to be able to wear. i got it at a good price, which i attributed to not having box or papers, but was still expecting full links since there was no mention of missing links in the listing.

it DOES fit my wife though with one link taken out, and she likes it, so this may be the second watch i got that she has appropriated.

I had been considered returning the hamilton since it didnt come with full links and the ebay description mentioned nothing about it except that it came with the original bacelet, but the wife seems to really like it so....guess it stays. 40mm is usually too large for her but the lugs are curved enough to make the lug to lug just within wearable range.

the 2836-2 seems to be running well. popped it on the timegrapher to see how it was doing after a day of the wife wearing it.

amplitude seemed a tad low at the high 250's and beat error of 0.4, but im not sure i have the lift angle correct at 52. i got varrying reports when i tried to look it up online. some said 50, some said 52.

anyway, the lift angle setting doesnt affect the timing and i was getting a consistant zero to -2 seconds a day so im not planning on taking it to my watchmaker just yet.

I have a vintage Titoni coming in today and my re-sent zelos should be here today as well. plus, the nezumi was shipped and should be here friday (hopefully)
going to be an interesting watch week for me.

Oh man, that is annoying Medic, but it's great that your wife
likes it, and fits on her like that. Can feel the dissappointment
in your words here, but it sounds like you guys are making
some terrific lemonade out of those lemons sir ! :clap2:

Wow, and yeah, sounds like an amazing watch week is on
the way with those incoming head turners !!!

Wouldn't you agree a Hammy is worth waiting for?
I'm Ex RR. Retired Engr. Back in the late 60's Hammy RR grade pocket
watches were the go to RR watches. Along with Illinois, Waltham etal.
In 1969 Hammy released their 1st stab at a model 505 wristie. As I
recall a slow self starter. Nothing wrong with the watch (has there ever been?)
Just a generation of us set in our pocketwatch ways.My paw said "You can't
teach an old dawg new tricks. But I learnt. And I bought 2 great Hammy
pocketwatches the 992b and the 950b. 21and 23 jewels respectfully. Kept em
40 + years flipped them in Dec 2018.
IMHO Hamilton is playing their A game and you're benefitting from it
Enjoy your new Hammy. Wish it was on my wrist!!!!
