Most, if not all of my watches come with a black dial. The contrast with hands and indices is very good, the dial colour is unobtrusive and 'easy'. But now, for the first time I'm leaning toward an orange dial. Mainly because the homage I'm thinking of purchasing was most popular with an orange dial. I'm talking about the Sandoz Typhoon, I just found out it's quite a rare watch.

So here it goes -

The Sandoz Typhoon original:

The CREPAS Tornado homage in orange:

The CREPAS Tornado homage in black:

The Sandoz Typhoon case back:

The CREPAS Tornado homage case back (based on a prototype):

There's even a >80% chance that I will order this watch next month but it will count for 2019 :D It's not a really pretty watch but somehow I like it.

I like the CREPAS (aesthetically anyway) a bit more than that Sandoz original. The way the case flares smoothly out around the crown is quite nice.

Can totally see why you are leaning toward the orange Frans ! :smile-thumb2:
Just is beyond cool, and makes any watch look even nicer imho.

Plus it was evidently the go to color on that vintage Typhoon
which I didn't even realize the Tornado was an homage too sir.

Love how Crepas looks to have really went all out paying tribute
to the original with the dial, and even bezel, but then switched
things up subtly with the more modern case there. ..Will be so
nice I think Frans !

The case is nearly the same and that's what I like about it. They had to do the tooling to produce it (or have it produced) because you can't find it in any of the Chinese Lego-box catalogues. To make this (and their previous watches) work they have to go the extra mile. Not the 100,001 thousand's Sub clone but new stuff. Albeit not their design.

I rank C.R.E.P.A.S. very high among the micro brands, they produce quality watches. Like Helson used to do.

They really do seem to stand out from so many companies, or brands Frans. :)

In a cool way because they do things the old fashioned way, they are actually
thinking outside the box nowadays. Honestly is just so much fun to see sir !
