Hi guys!

A good friend of mine and I just launched our own watch brand named, Tusenö Watches, through Kickstarter.

We have worked on this project since early 2014 and it has been quite a ride. We are really excited about this, but we would love some input from you guys, even though I know most of you are not crazy about Kickstarter watches.

Im just going to give ju some basic information and some photos. If you have any questions, just ask and I will do my best answering them!

About the name "Tusenö" it's Swedish for "thousand islands" which the Swedish west coast often is referred to as (both of us are raised there).

Technical specification
Model name: First 42
Case Size: 42mm x 11mm
Dials: Black sun-ray pattern & White
Case Material: 316L Surgical Steel (rosé gold plated or silver)
Glass: Sapphire crystal, slightly convex.
Movement: Seiko VK64, Hybrid Mecha-Quartz Chronograph
Strap: Mesh, suede or leather
Clasp: Butterfly
Water resistant: 5 ATM

The first 150 watches sold on Kickstarter will go for approx $299 which is $100 off retail.
We wanted to create a classic watch with the best possible materials and quality and still keep a affordable price.

Our vision is to make Tusenö an established watch brand and we plan to increase the standard of materials and movements used in the future and therefore strive more towards mid-end 1-2000 dollar watches.

Please, questions, opinions. Good/bad? What do you think, what would you have changed?

Many thanks in advance and I do apologise for any typos!

Johan - Co Funder of Tusenö

Well, I'm not a chrono fan but the first thing that caught my eye was the chrono hand. It looks too short to me. I would think it should reach the minute track.

I would second what tinknocker says and add that both the minute and chrono seconds hand should touch the outer edge of the minute track ring. You'll then have to lengthen the hour hand to keep them proportional

Welcome Johan, welcome ! :)

Just finished looking at your pictures of the watches, and can't really find anything bad to say. They look great !!! :first: ..Looks as if you guys have been making watches for 100 years or something. Not a couple years. It's remarkable !

Each variation of the watch looks so well thought out, and refined. It's hard actually choosing a favorite. ..All I know is anyone would be lucky to have one of these on their wrists, or in their watch box. What a nice job you guys have done. Thanks a lot for the introduction, along with info, and pics of all of these !

I'm a huge fan of chronographs, so these are already looking great to me. I like the black dial/silver case and black dial/black case. But, I will note that the case looks similar to the Philip Ashton Dayhatch. This isn't a fault by any means, though.

It's a good start...however, the hands need a little work.

Hour hand - Needs to extend closer to the indices
Minute hand - Should touch the minute markers
Second Hand - Should extend through the minute track

The two sundial hands should be extended to reach the indices too.

Hear hear on the hands. As for the dial, I love the classic look and NOT changing the color of the chrono dials. Looks cleaner that way.

I would also think about reducing the size of the 3 and 9 to allow a full number next to the subdial. It'll look a lot cleaner that way...maybe resize the 6 also

Great looking watches! I especially like the black dial and rose gold case. Very elegant, and the price is right!!!!

Congrats to you for taking the risk and putting your work out there for others to evaluate.

Best of luck to you guys!

Hi Johan,
As a founder of a micro brand myself, many years ago, all I can say is "kudos" to you for following your dream.

The watch is a "universal" type of watch that will appeal to many people so you're keeping your market as open as possible. And it looks good. The mechanicals are trusted. You should be on to a winner here.

Well done on taking it to the watch community for comments, these guys know their stuff and are an important demographic, so the feedback you get can only be good.

I wish you all the success and hope to see more models. Keep active on the communities as one day you may see / read something and "bingo", the next watch idea is sown.

I think you forgot to add a link to your Kickstarter page. Took the liberty of putting it here:

Thanks a lot for all the kind words!

We are very happy that you, the guys who are interested in watches for real, think they look good. Thats important to us.

We were always looking to create a classic design that works for a lot of people in a lot of different situations.

And Bentfish, I actually didn't forget, just didn't want to seem pushy :)

But thanks for posting it, would be great if you guys would want to take a look at the campaign as well and give us your thoughts.

Many thanks,
Johan
