Hey everyone, have you checked out Omega's new Speedmaster Silver
Snoopy Award 50th Anniversary already?

The new Special Edition celebrates the 50th anniversary of Apollo 13,
along with Snoopy Award NASA awarded Omega. With details like a
42mm stainless steel case, 50M WR, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel
with tachymeter scale, silver dial with blue hands, markers, and sub-
dials, and cool Snoopy too. In addition, there is the in-house Calibre
3861 hand wound master chronometer chronograph movement that's
behind special decorated NAIAD LOCK case-back, and blue nylon fabric
strap also.

Some pictures for you...

Monochrome, and Omega with a lot more information...

Interesting story. Love the history, and that case back...oh my. But I would never have thought of them making a cartoon watch. And, unfortunately, $9,600 is about $9,300 too rich for me.

Pretty darn cool, but pretty darn novelty.
It really is a cool story Gary, and Scott, and then something
you wouldn’t necessarily expect from Omega. Honestly seems
like it was a way for them to maybe lighten things up back in day.
All while paying tribute to heroes with a fun idea, and the Snoopy
connection. (y)Looks like this is only the third watch from Omega
to use the theme, which is neat as well. The only thing not so neat
is the price like you guys are saying !! 😄

Oh well, it’s fun to at least see, and we can’t forget, Timex makes
a few watches with Snoopy too. 😀

Really want to thank you guys for sharing your thoughts on this
one !! ..Thanks so very much !!!

Thanks for posting that AtomicTom! (you beat me to it ;) )

It is a great looking piece! And at CHF 9'600 / £8'250, it's not "that" bad. Wish I had the funds to acquire one. Although it seems this will not be made in limited numbers, if this blurb from the page is anything to go by:

"The non-limited watch is driven by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, and comes in a special presentation box."

It's also cool that they have animated the Snoopy on the back, so that he goes "around the dark side of the moon" when the chronograph is in operation

The only thing that worries me is that the dial is .925 silver, meaning it is susceptible to tarnish (essentially start to go black), so it may not age well? Maybe they coated it with something to keep it from tarnishing, but I can't see any description on the website. In any case, cleaning a tarnished dial will be a bear of a job....

Indeed, Timex does make a few Snoopy watches! Here's one from their .eu website, with a Quartz movement:

This has to be my favourite though:

😀🙂😉 You are very welcome FB, and thank YOU for all the extra info
on both the Omega, and the different Timex models too ! 🙂😎 All of the
watches are incredibly nice, but then when Snoopy is added in, things
reach new heights. (See what I did there? )🚀 Plus as you were saying,
they are limited which is nice, but are special !

Just really love all of the attention to detail both watchmaking, and with
Snoopy himself. Honestly seems fantastic all the way around. From the
front to the back, and inside, and out. Although some great detective
work about the silver of the dial ! 👀(y) Didn't even think about that.
But maybe Omega did coat it like you said sir. Either way, and even
with that tarnish it would make them even more unique at the end of
the day. It's so cool FB, and so are the Timex models right?!

Thank YOU for your two cents, and for all the info, and links too sir !!!

The caseback is my favorite part.
And that is saying something right Gary?! 😉(y)

So beautiful, but then fun, and also funny. Honestly, think
they should make a new version every single year. But then
I guess it wouldn’t make them as special if they did that.

Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts sir. THX a lot !!!

Like Steve said bove FB, the watch really is so nicely done, and the
more you see of it, the more you like it. 😉😀 Seriously, that first
video is fantastic all by itself, and makes you have a whole new
appreciation for the watch, as well as Snoopy. 😄 Then the next
video tells you everything you might want to know about the watch.
All while making the watch feel like it's right in front of you. (y)(y)
So neat FB ! Thanks so so much !!!

It really is isn't it sir?! And it's just a really fun watch also with Snoopy
right there like that smiling at you. (y)🙂On the one hand it's a very
serious watch, but also is seriously fun, and charming. ..Am looking
forward to that day Stephen. :D

So happy you enjoyed ! ..Thanks a ton for sharing your thoughts !!!
