I know they are 2 different watches but i have my sights on both of these watches for the next up watch...all info is welcome and appreciated...

I own the Omega Planet Ocean series three hand with the orange bezel, but I don't have the chronograph. It is one of favorite watches. You can't go wrong with this watch.

quick look online shows that watch around $3-5000. what makes it worth that much over any of the 10 similar lower priced watches out there? i am not putting this watch down in any way, just honestly asking.

Great question and hopefully someone can answer it for us....I know i tried on the 3 hand and it was nice and you felt the quality but something about this chrono just catches my eye...Omega in general is a quality watch...its not the biggest watch but i know the height is pretty thick and thats what i love in a watch...

I THINK (I could be wrong) that his question is why this watch costs over $3000 in the first place. Is the metal in the case different? Is the metal in the bracelet different, is the inside parts that make the movement different?
Or are you paying for "the name" and history of the brand.

I think that is liquid's question because he has alluded to this question in the past in other threads.

Still not sure if he's wanting to compare this particular watch to other less expensive Omegas or to other less expensive PO look alikes?

Regardless...if you're in the market for an Omega, you're not just looking to pick up a cool looking watch that tells the time.

You're buying an exceptional timepiece with outstanding design and a timeless appearance, constructed of top notch components, buttery smooth movement, made with remarkable quality and masterful craftsmanship. It's a watchthat will last a lifetime or longer. You're paying to own a small piece of a storied company whose namehas been associated with several momentous events in human history. Owning an Omega makes you part of an exclusive group of those who not only appreciate a nice watch, but excellence in horology.

It's just my opinion...but that's how I justify their price tags.

What makes it better? its a omega.is the movement different? yes.its a coaxial that doesn't require service for 6 to 7 years. its accurate and highly modified. same steel as other watches but machined and finished to a much higher standard.Brand history.Service.After sales service.I strap one of these on and the world suddenly is a better place. These questions only come up from people who don't own them.
