Yes I bought a Tag Heuer and am nervous to look like a fool taking it to my Jeweler for authentication. I am so unsure if it is real and I guess my pride is getting in the way. I do not want to admit if I got scammed so I wanted to see what you guys and gals may say. Ok so I bought a Tag Heuer Formula one Grande Date last week. It looks good, It wears well but I do not know if it is real. By looking at these pics tell me what you think. Did I throw my money down the poop shoot? and No, I have not unscrewed the back. :confused2:

I am guessing it’s real. I wouldn’t bother getting it checked. You’ve bought it already; wait for someone to point out it’s not real.

I am not a Tag Heuer expert, but it looks real to me.

One thing is for sure. While people generally don’t answer threads here, if they think you’re just taking, and not giving, they will point out if it’s not real. So, rest assured if there’s no responses here as to authenticity: it’s real.

With due respect to TT's post, it is a bit of a wild shot to believe you have a genuine TAG because you're not getting a response from the forum.

If you really need to know if the watch is authentic, then I would suggest you take it to an AD who will quickly tell if it's genuine or not.

Unfortunately am not an expert in any way on these either
Errwik, but I am really hoping it is real. I mean it looks
real from here, and even has a neat case-back. But like
Reflex said, to be 100% sure maybe take it to an AD.

It will put your mind at ease. :)

I took it to my local AD and they did not have a qualified person to check it out. They sent me to another place and they opened up the back and looked it over. They advised because they are not Tag Heuer they could not 100% say it is real however after looking at it he said there are no red flags indicating otherwise. Both Jewelers said that it looks and feels 100% before they even opened the back. The only reason I am not sending it in is the one Jeweler said the Tag Would keep it if it was not real. Does anyone know is that is true?

To me, the clasp looks kind of chinzy for being such a high end watch. Other than that, from what I see in the pictures, it looks pure Tag to me. Enjoy.

The bracelet is the 19mm so not quite as substantial as the more expensive Tags is my thought. I have one in the safe that was my late Wife's I guess I could compare.

Never feel bad about checking on a watches authenticity. You should know. Always better to verify before purchase if possible. You shouldn't need to send it to Tag.
A legitimate watchmaker worth his/her salt can tell you for sure. I'm amazed that the two spots you took it to were both wimps.

It's a lower end quartz model Tag, they are chintzy, compared to say an Aquaracer. All TAGS are grossly overpriced for what you get, I know, I have owned three of them!
