Nicked Bezel question?

Question -

So some months back I bought my wife this watch - the diamond limited edition pro diver. she loves it and wears it all of the time and it is basically her daily watch.


Yesterday she accidentally banged it against something and on the outer bezel around the #4 black area there is a tiny, and I mean tiny scratch. (The picture above is one I took when I got her the watch so you don't see it in the pic). It looks like a little tiny white thin mark that does not go all the way across the bezel, just is scratched in the middle of the black bezel area. it is white or some lighter color that you can see if you look.

so here is the question - do I just grab a thin fine tipped black sharpie and dot this tiny mark out? that seems like the simplest thing to do and it is literally really small.

thoughts?....

Battle wounds and scars a re cool, I would leve it. Anything you try outside of having it replated will look like %[email protected]*

Sounds like a plan. Definitely cheaper than have the bezel insert replaced. :)

do not use black sharpie........it is not a fix..........i have tried that in the past with other watches and the color of the sharpie does not even closely match the black on the bezel, and it comes off as brown against the bezel and just makes it look worse.............if anything, maybe a deep black paint pen from an art store would do the trick.

James, I had the same thing happen on the black portion of my PD bezel. I used Plastic polish by Meguiars, worked real nice.

Does this scratch irritate you or her more? The reason I ask is because I seem to notice those things on my wifes watches and then I point them out to her and she could care less. I'm anal about scratches, dings, and marks in my watches. I might be a little OCD.

I have actually used the black sharpies on black cars I have had and you couldn't see the scratch any more unless you knew exactly where to look, the trick is to wipe the area with an alcohol moistened, just damp, soft cloth, this will remove all the marker except for down in the scratch itself.

Yes, Nail Polish.

I use this to touch up nicks and scratches on my mountain bike.

Heck it'll even touch up you car color (there's bound to be a match somewhere)

A little off topic but "Nick Bezel" would be a great nic.
