Anyone catch this news?

Looks like there will be a new Tudor Black Bay, named the Black Bay Bronze that will be shown at Baselworld everyone. The new watch will have a bigger 43mm case, and COSC certified MT5601 automatic with it's 70 hr. power reserve, and silicon hairspring.

Have a look...

Like all things Bronze, it starts off looking great, but then when the vaunted "Patina" sets in, it starts to look like **** to me!

Makes me revert back to my Marine Corps days and want to break out the "Brasso" to clean up the tarnished brass belt buckle.

Tom:
I've been buying, wearing and flippin watches for a mighty long time.
Some Freeks have commented they didnt like this or that about this
watch.
But IMHO there's not one negative I can see in this watch. Fits my
pistol!!!!

But Lou, wait till the patina starts kicking in, and the watch starts getting green around the gills, then you may change your mind.

Must start by saying I am partial to Tudor because i own a black bay myself.

That being said, I think this is a solid watch. They are jumping on the hot bronze trend right now. Not 100% certain about the dial, Maybe it works, maybe i would have liked to see the OG dial. I think it will patina nicely, however i'd want to see one thats been worn for a while before I would pull the trigger. I am a fan of the Panerai Bronzo so guess I am a fan of bronze.

I think with the right controlled patina it can look pretty cool.

To me it takes a dressy, classy watch and makes the watch into a knock around watch with the band...

It is not for me ... I'm more of a traditionalist ... used to seeing dressy watch and dressy bands, steel, titanium and smooth leather, but not an "outdoorsy" band...

In cars I think you would call this a "crossover"...
