NFW just today introduced their new Shumate Chronograph. A Citizen quartz movement with a range of 1/20 second to 12 hours timing. Appears to be basically the same movement as in my Viperfish chronograph. 300 meters water resistance claimed and considerably lighter than the Viperfish at 9 ounces on the metal bracelet. Introductory price is $100 off for the next 4 days.

My Shumate chronograph arrived today. Ordered the day of it's announcement, saving $100, and I bought the brushed stainless steel finish version. Much lighter color than it appears in the NFW web site photos and it includes a very long steel links band. I had to remove 4 links to get it short enough for my 7.5" wrist so should be good for a 8.5" or slightly larger wrist. Very nice adjustable diver extension on the links band and the watch includes a rubber diver style strap and installation tools for both bands. Length adjustment tools included for the links band too which uses all screw type links pins. Including the screw type band attachments to the watch body, rather than spring pins, the band looks to be hell for sturdy and strong. The NFW aluminum shipping box is also a very nice item.

I also have the Watch Freeks special edition NFW Auto Pilot, SN 044 of 100, Auto wind mechanical watch and the original black finish Viperfish quartz chrono in my collection.

After exposure to my LED Solar watch winder for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon and early evening I wore the Shumate to bed and noted that 12 hours later it was still readable in a dark room. This is THE BEST lume paint performance I have ever noted. The watch write up on the NFW web site states that the lume paint is 50 layers of BGW9 and Swiss SuperLuminova. All I know is that it certainly works.

(y)(y)Oh nice, that has to be cool being on a brands email list like that. 😉
You get all of the breaking news, along with previews way ahead of the public.
Plus must feel an even better connection with the brand/brands as a result
too Astro. Very very cool !

Speaking of cool, that lume sounds just phenomenal from what you are
saying. Wow it must be electric in person ! ⚡🌞
Actually the Lume is good enough so when fully charged it allowed dark adapted eyes to read the watch time in a dark room after almost 24 hours. Dim glow but still readable. I would say excellent performance considering that these eyes are 78 years old and both have had cataract operations.
