I recently purchased a Zenith pocket watch that I really found interesting. I am not very familiar with Zenith pocket watches so I am not sure how to tell its age and rarity. As with other watches the movement is not marked except with the word Zenith and a number 1174955. Zenith does not appear on the face of the watch; however I have read that many of the late 1800 watches from Zenith did not. The number on the inside of the dust cover is as follows 183627. If you can be of any help it would be greatly appreciated.

According to the serial number it's from 1912 (the movement). It's possible that the case might be a little bit older but not necessarily. In many cases the case would be manufactured BEFORE the movement (since it's a much simpler item).

Other than that I can't tell you much. The movement looks good for it's age I would say, but probably needs a bit of cleaning and, maybe, oiling. Watch looks quite good.

A 104 year old pocket watch, that's a keeper!
