This watch has really been a fun adventure.
1) I was originally given this Skagen Dive watch by a good friend. They had not worn it for years and the rubber strap had literally cracked in half and fallen off. The watch had been sitting in a drawer for over 5 years. All they could tell me was that it was about 10 years old and originally had been sold at Sharper Image back in the day. What was really interesting was the size of the watch. It is 45mm from bezel edge to edge and 50mm if you include the extended case and crown. It is also heavy. Considering the reported age of the watch, it's size was unusual for a watch that was a decade old.
Most importantly, I just really liked the overall look of the case design, bezel, and dial look.
2) I emailed Skagen directly and only received a vague email back from them that I had an old old model that was no longer made. They did not help at all and never emailed me back again when I asked additional questions.
3) I then posted pictures of the watch on 3 (three) different watch forums asking anyone if they could help identify this watch and find ANY information on it, anywhere. I posted the following 2 images of the front and back of the watch to see if anyone could find anything. NO ONE could offer any leads. The numbers on the back of the watch did not lead anywhere that was helpful and did not seem to be the model numbers. These are the 2 pictures I posted on the different watch forums asking for help identifying the watch -

4) The ONLY lead was found by our own Toecutter, who found a picture of the same watch with a bracelet. Now you all know I love bracelets so I was getting a little excited that maybe there was a stock bracelet for this watch. This is the picture he found -

But sadly the picture above lead no where. I even sent this picture to Skagen directly and they had no additional help they could offer. Frustrating!!!
5) With no luck finding out info about this Skagen model I just figured I would get a new rubber strap and wear the watch. But then I realized that the watch was not working. I assumed the battery was just dead and a new one would fix it. I had lunch with Rick (currenttime) and he said he would open it up and put in a new battery for me. He took it home with him. A day or so later he called me and said the new battery did not fix the problem. Apparently the movement was shot. Now I had a decision to make. Replace the movement or just call it a day and move on. We decided to find a replacement movement and replace the broken one. Rick found an inexpensive movement which we purchased and put in the watch. You can see pictures and videos of this entire process IN THIS THREAD ABOUT THE MOVEMENT SWAP.
6) With the new movement in the watch it started working like a champ and Rick sent it back to me. I was excited to get the watch back and quickly went out and got a rubber dive watch strap so I could start wearing it.
7) Below are some pictures of the finished, and now working perfectly Skagen Dive watch, that I still know nothing about it's history, model number, or original watch details/specs.
