My Planet Orient has returned! I'm so happy!

So a few months back I sent in the watch because it started running +45 seconds per day. It is rated + or minus 20 I believe. Still under warranty and Orient USA gave me no qualms, just set up the ticket and off we went. There was one hiccup with payment of $12 for return shipping as they wanted a check and I don't use checks. This was ultimately solved through PayPal. No problem.

After several weeks it came back serviced... Except, the oscillating weight was now stuck inside the case. No good.

I contacted Orient USA service immediately and they apologized, and made a ticket for service and emailed me a shipping label. Sent it off again and a few weeks later it is back! Seems like all is in order. I'll monitor the accuracy over a few days and report back again.

Overall, Orient USA was fairly easy to work with on the warranty work. The speedo service is slow as there is only one authorized service center, but not unreasonable. The customer service and responsiveness was great! The problem solving over the return fee was creative and quick. I'd say I'm quite happy with them for the overall experience. It sucked having to go back again, yes, but they handled it quickly without question.

Kudos, Orient USA!

Glad to hear you had a good experience with Orient Service facility.
I own 3 Orients (Flight, Mako and Mako XL) I wont be hesitant when
an Orient of mine needs service.

Completely a different experience than dealing with that company
in Bollywood, Fla (their brand name starts with the letter I) I won't
throw rocks at em in print. You may even have one (or 2) They are
' between horrible and unforgivable!

That's interesting.15 sec lost in 48 hrs.
My 3 Orients tend to gain time in 48 hrs.
Thru trial and error, I've learned my 3
actually gain approx and avg of 6 to 8 secs
in 48 hrs each.
My solution is, place the one of the 3 That I
intend to wear the next day, is remove it from
the winder and place it dial downward.
Wouldn't you suppose Orient regulate their
watches to gain a small amount? Seems to be
their method.

Prior to being serviced it was running +5 to +10 a day at most. After wearing it several months it suddenly jumped to +45 or more in a 24-hour period. Very odd. All of my other auto's run just slightly fast... It will be interesting to see if this drop continues over the next few weeks as I wear. I'm sure I'll find myself wearing it more than my others for a short time.

EDIT: Just FYI, I rechecked the specs from Orient and the movement should be +25 ~ -15s/day.
