So, my Swiss neighbour and best buddy, also a WIS who owns a really nice vintage Speedie that was his grandfathers who also happened to be a sales rep for Patek, went for his annual trip home and returned with this as a souvenir for me.
He got two, one with a white dial and one with a black. As you can see I chose the white! What can I say, it's cool. A Swatch 51, Auto, also hand wind (but only in an anticlockwise direction!) 30M W.R., 90 hour P.R., leather strap, see through caseback and a 2 year warranty!
Now this beats a postcard or even a box of Swiss chocolates, which is what wifey got!
It's really very cool having a fellow WIS right across the street, we also share a love for Motorcycles and Beer. Over the last few years he's become a bit like the son I never had! Ain't life strange?
Cheers All and Happy new watch day!
Derek

Now that is pretty spectacular Derek ! :smileyface_hand_claWhat a friend you have there !!! ..These watches are really amazing when you think about it. Not only do you have a ridiculously nice, and unique dial, but the whole mechanical automatic thing rocks ! Going to be so much fun wearing that one I think sir. Huge congrats on both it, and the chocolate ! :clapping-hands-abov

Yes, and the paperwork is stamped by the Swatch Store, Geneve so it really is a "Swiss Watch" lol.
Of course, Im wearing it today and after having my 009 on my wrist nearly everyday the last month this Swatch feels so light! I'm looking forward to seeing how it holds up to the rigors of working with the dogs, training, bathing etc. and also if the vibrations of the motorcycles will have any effect.
Stay posted.
