Mont blanc watch in pawnshop, is it real?

8451 Views 43 Replies 25 Participants Last post by  scotty
I put a watch on layaway at my local pawnshop today. The pawnshop says it's authentic but won't let me take it out and have it checked before I buy it. I have looked for a similar watch made by mont blanc online and have not been able too. Does anyone know or has anyone seen this watch before? Any idea if it is real?

The faux tourbillion window is a tell-tale sign among other details. $20, tops. Drop it like a hot potato.

Layaway was 20$ no big deal. I can leave it or buy it. That's not the question though. Yeah I cannot find a mont blanc with faux tourbillion window, and its what made me feel it may not be real. Everything else seems to match up but my knowledge is limited. It runs flawlessly and if it's a replica it is a high quality one. It feels real, I have looked at them at the local mont blanc store. I think I will take the advice and take the photos in to someone who knows. I appreciate everyone's comments, thank you :)
If the crown lacks the Montblanc 'ice cap' (like the dial that lacks the Swiss Made description) don't bother.

LOL. Interesting commentary here.

If the great guys at the pawn shop I go to tell me something is authentic, I believe them. And I know that if a mistake was made they would stand behind it. And that has nothing to do with the fact that pawn brokers are some of the most heavily regulated sellers in the US.
So the watch in question is genuine?

I fell for it again. The "is it real?" question. My age is turning me into a gullible sap :D
