I put a watch on layaway at my local pawnshop today. The pawnshop says it's authentic but won't let me take it out and have it checked before I buy it. I have looked for a similar watch made by mont blanc online and have not been able too. Does anyone know or has anyone seen this watch before? Any idea if it is real?

Btw. I'm not asking if I should make the purchase or not. I can make my own decision to pass on it or not based on the price and my research. I am looking for info on the watch not weather I should buy it or not

The faux tourbillion window is a tell-tale sign among other details. $20, tops. Drop it like a hot potato.

Layaway was 20$ no big deal. I can leave it or buy it. That's not the question though. Yeah I cannot find a mont blanc with faux tourbillion window, and its what made me feel it may not be real. Everything else seems to match up but my knowledge is limited. It runs flawlessly and if it's a replica it is a high quality one. It feels real, I have looked at them at the local mont blanc store. I think I will take the advice and take the photos in to someone who knows. I appreciate everyone's comments, thank you :)

If the crown lacks the Montblanc 'ice cap' (like the dial that lacks the Swiss Made description) don't bother.

NO PAPERWORK DON"T BUY IT.
Unless an AD confirms it authentic and that probably wont happen - DON'T BUY IT.

This should be the end of the discussion right, lol

Not necessarily. I've bought plenty of watches without paperwork. My company, Collectible Watches Australia, provides a guarantee of 100% authenticity on all sales, regardless of whether paperwork is included.

One only has to look at the watch itself to know it's a fake with a cheap Chinese movement. If it was real, and priced right, then it would be okay to purchase it without paperwork. Furthermore, there is plenty of fake paperwork and packaging available, so don't assume something is real because it appears to be the full set.

Like said above, cheap Chinese watch. Crappy bracelet, and Montblanc would never use an open escapement that looks like that, it looks so cheap. The pushers even look cheap.

How much are they asking?

I did a quick search and couldn't find any Timewalker Chronographs with an open heart configuation from Montblanc. I did see a rose gold one that was listed as a "replica"

The biggest thing is, the store won't guarantee it as real/original.
That's not good.
The one store I go to, that buys watches, will give you a certificate of authenticity for any watch they sell.
