Well then I hope you weren't offended by my unintentional snub.
Here's another unintentional snub ...

every time I see your posts I notice your cigar pic - and I think of Julia Tutwiler; for no explanation as I have no family/ friends there. As I recall you're also a local and will know that name; I'm still near Dothan.

What is the history? Private mail is OK if you're willing to share it.
No snub taken.
All I know about Tutwiler is the name and what I just read on google/Wikipedia. She's of Tuscaloosa/Birmingham fame. I'm on up in Huntsville.
The Avatar is a semi-famous photo of an old wall in Hot Springs Arkansas. It happens to be my name so I use it as an avatar on various forums.

All I know is his current watch (ID'd above) and the fact that he wanted a Rolex - likely due to name recognition?
Well, it’s tricky to find a Rolex for $5k but it’s possible

Gary is right Wrascal, it’s tough going for that Rolex, but if he
can find one he likes, maybe that’s the way he should go. (y)

I mean we might want him to look around at all of these great
brands everybody is posting up. 😉😀 But maybe we should
let him just go with his heart.

You should consider making up a better story - like your grandpa opened this business during the great depression, and its been handed down over the generations; maybe even sending out free cigars to those interested!

Rainy few days moving in here in the lower areas,

I don't think they'll find a $5K Rolex - it's just a pipe dream. All I hope to do is point out there are many other quality watches (with a rich heritage) at significantly better prices; which I've done.

Their current problem - is heavy snowfall and a roadtrip into Canada!

This particular watch keeps catching my eye, then being discarded (too busy with buttons, sub-dials, complications). Tonight it hit me, perhaps this watch would satisfy his image itch (at a far better price point than a Rolex Daytona).

I think it no doubt would scratch his itch or fit the bill Wrascal, it's beautiful. 😉
However, even though it is a high profile watch to all of us here in the watch
enjoying world, would he know what it was? Or just how great of a watch it
is actually sir? ..What I mean is, would he appreciate it as much as you, me,
or all of us here would?

I'm getting Zero feedback from them, but as expected. They are travelling deep in Canada, with no cell, no net; perhaps intentionally. They explained this would be the case for 2-3 weeks. Lewis and Clark style, back country wanderers; but NOT ME.

Modern Sub-Human Conditions.

In the meantime I continue to lust over the above Moon watch.

Well they don't seem to be as into watches as we are Wrascal, it's natural for
them not to have back to you yet. 😉Plus it does sound like they are off on a
really wonderful adventure. 🤠🌄But when they come back you just might
have begun their transformation into WatchFreeks. 😀😀..Or at the very
least ignited some further interests of your own as it sounds like you have
here sir. (y)(y)

THX a ton for the update on everything !!!

Although I've not bid on any Omega Moonwatch's - I've saved several to my eBay "watch lists".
This evening I received - from a seller, his offering a $400 discount.

While this cheap Charlie lusts, i still won't go as high.
