2year old (bought brand new) watch, glass case falls off. Company tells me,glue was compromised due to extreme temperature. I live in California, not Antarctica

They sell watches globally but, customer service only in Germany? And authorized repair information v.hard to come by.

Today, minute hand and other dials on chronograph stop working.

Will not buy another Junkers ever!

So much for German quality and customer service.

THIS is the First time, I am coming across this brand, and by the demand on chronos24, they are fairly in the category of entry level luxury watches. However I do not know the msrp, and as such I cannot comment on their quality. Just because something is made in Germany, doesn't mean its top notch.

In regards to your question, you already know the answer. Quality is low, and warranty is available at Germany, so mail it out and await a refurbishment.

Thier automatic watches feature a nice workhorse Sellita SW 200. I have this and ETA2824 in many of my entry level luxury deemed Raymond Weil watches. So far no issues, apart from the damage I cause messing around.

Tissot, and Rhonda quartz are very cheap, some even go for 2.20 USD/unit in bulk. That's a good and bad thing. It's cheaper to replace if anything goes wrong, saves the cost to visit a jeweller, however longevity doesn't come at this cheap tag.

Things might have worked out terribly with the Junkers, but it’s
terrific that you are here, and can share your story like this.

I was wondering as well if perhaps a local watch shop could take
care of the issue for you. And who knows, a lot of places might
just fix it quickly at no cost. 😀

Junkers used to make good watches, the company that made them had the rights taken away by the owners of the brand. The brand owners started manufacturing watches and now they are essentially not even a shadow of what they were in terms of quality, being copies of iconic German watches (the Max Bill).

It's a pity, they used to make nice, reliable watches.

And yes, Made in Germany is not some absolute guarantee of superior quality, neither is Made in Japan nor Made in the USA. It depends on the company and their ethics. It sounds to me like the OP got a raw deal here.

@Ronit What exactly happened to the watch? Did the crystal fall out? Honestly, I've never heard of glue being used to keep a crystal on (exception being really cheap MIC stuff). Usually a crystal is friction fit and has a gasket to keep out dust / water splashes etc.
