I'm still old school. I think women still like a man to act that way for the most part.

You would be absolutely correct in thinking that.I think women still like a man to act that way for the most part.
That's what I'm afraid of...We've struggled for so long to be taken seriously as an equal that all the lovely aspects of being a feminine, soft woman have been lost because we've had to be so freakin' tuff in order to be heard. So yes, if it dies, it's your fault!
Do you hold the door for women ?...Pull out her chair as she is being seated ?...Adhere to the old adage, "ladies before gentlemen" ?...OR...Do you believe that after spending years trying to be heard while saying we want to be treated as strong, capable & independant women that we no longer deserve those courtesies & chivalry is, in fact, dead and we killed it.
Not dead here Duchess. I hold the door open all the time. Hell, I do it for men too. At times though, I wish I hadn't held the door for some some a-hole, male or female, that didn't have the common courtesy to say thanks or just simply acknowledge me.
I tell ya G., it takes everything I have to keep my thoughts suppressed when that happens.
Now that calls for a major "DITTO"!!!!!!!Not dead here Duchess. I hold the door open all the time. Hell, I do it for men too. At times though, I wish I hadn't held the door for some some a-hole, male or female, that didn't have the common courtesy to say thanks or just simply acknowledge me.
Same here, or when you hold the door open for one person and end up holding it open for like 20..TUNAKLLR wrote:Now that calls for a major "DITTO"!!!!!!!Not dead here Duchess. I am the same way....always hold the door, pull out a chair and always ladies before gents..thats the way I was brought up from my grandfather and thats the way my son is going to be raised. I always either held the elderly also no matter if its a man or a women.I don't believe that chivalry is quite dead, yet. I still do, as I was taught . . . open doors, pull out the chair, ladies before gents, etc.![]()
