Sunday Run advertising Speed Way Swiss Chronograph with Swiss Dubois Depraz movement 57 jewels for $989 plus shipping.

Its being hyped on the Sunday Run, but is it really worth it?

For the dough, what else would you buy?

Hi Al, there are many fine watches you can buy for that money. A Sturhling Original Torbillon, A Citizen Calibre 2100 which is an eco drive and has a mechanocal chronograph, if memory serves. The NFW ViperFish or the NFW Auto Pilot. The list goes on. Most folks feel Invicta prices go down if you willing to wait but that has to be your choice, to wait and maybe lose the OTV. A Jaques Lemans Geneve watch with a 7750 chrono movement. An SWI linited edition with a high end movement. The List goes on. There are many high quality watches out there, especially for a grand. Some of the watches I mentioned are way less than a thousand dollars. ....Bob

There's a long thread on "Geeks" about this TTV. Guys saying that the TTV is the way to go over the Tourby. For my money....... it's the Tourby all the way. It ain't just about the movement. It's the whole package and the Speedo was the wrong time piece to put that D/D in. JMHO. Besides, it'll probably wind up on Gilt for what?? $239.00 in a month or two???? :lol:lol:lol(Well, maybe not that low, but it will go down. Rest assured!!!)

Thank you guys....feel like arnie that the speedway was the wrong time piece to put in the Swiss ETA 2892 Automatic with Dubois-Dupraz 2021 Chronograph module 57 jewels. It was the movement that caught my attention since we been looking for one super high end automatic....we prefer quartz for a number of reasons, but recognize that the true heart and soul of a watch is in the mechanical and automatics. One truly serious automatic and lots of quartz to play with.... Al

Quick vote from Bob's List. You can add to the list too:
Invicta Speed Way ETA 2892 Chrono -
Sturhling Original Torbillon, -
Citizen Calibre 2100 -
NFW ViperFish -
NFW Auto Pilot. -
Oris -
Jaques Lemans Geneve watch with a 7750 chrono movement

If you are talking about $1000 there are just a ton of great automatic watches you could get from many many companies, including the ones mentioned above. You could get 2-3 nice watches (keepers) to be honest. So many.

I may be biased on my answer, but you can also get into a very nice Marathon automatic for under $1K. Marathon, Oris, and several other watches mentioned in this thread will also hold there value should you decide down the road to sell it for something else. JMHO

Not bashing but never will spend $1000 on an Invicta. If I had a grand it would go either on an Oris or a combination of a Hamilton and a Debaufre. I just can't wait to hear about service issues or these Invicta Speedies not working properly because it will happen.
