Casio has multiple watches that show four user selectable time zones in addition to the wearer's primary time zone. These are the DW-291H, the AE1000 and the AE1200 "World Time" watches. All of these are digital LCD quartz watches in the under $40 category on Amazon and the last two are available in versions with resin or steel bands. All are rated for 100 meters or greater water resistance. I prefer the steel band versions, shown below, personally for dressier looks and more comfortable wear in hot and humid climates. All are powered by batteries rated for 10 year life expectancy. A versatile and inexpensive travelers watch that is accurate and not worth stealing at the price, and so what if it is lost or stolen at the retail price. No big deal compared to a more expensive watch. IMO these are the traveler's beater watches.

I wrote up the DW-291H here.

It is available in multiple color choices. I prefer the red face version shown at the above link.

Here is the AE1000 picture with metal band:

And the AE1200 photo.

With the steel color finish and metal bands both IMO look considerably dressier and more expensive than their retail prices. Multiple versions also offered with different finishes and resin bands for both.

A slightly more expensive option for the traveler is the GD-350 Casio G Shock. Less dressy than the above but it's world time citys menu lists 100 cities in the world's time zones. For example the pacific time zone lists 5 cities, LA, San Francisco, Tijuana, Seattle and Vancouver. Only one selectable at a time so possibly less convenient than the above watches and certainly less dressy as it is a standard large black G shock watch. Cheapest current price on Amazon is circa $80 so still quite reasonable and it includes a unobtrusive vibration alarm.

If I had any one of these I would try with all my might to keep
them scratch free Astro. :giggle: I know it’s near impossible to do,
but I swear they look so much nicer than beaters to me. 😎😉
Even the resin GD-350 is one I would be nice to. But it’s great
to know that all of these could handle anything we threw at
them sir. AND look terrific doing, AND are such steal of a deal
watches at the end of the day.

Thanks so so much for always tracking these down, as well
as reporting on them for all of us !!!
Tom; Afraid that I tend to refer to inexpensive, under $50 or so, watches as beaters no matter how good looking they are as the pain of their being lost, stolen or damaged is much less than for more expensive instruments. The amazing thing to me is that many of these inexpensive quartz watches are better time keepers on average than Swiss mechanical watches that retail for umpteen thousands of dollars. One of the reasons that I consider virtually all automatic balance wheel watches to be as much status symbol jewelry as accurate time keepers. Particularly so when you look at radio synchronized or GPS electronic watches, smart or not, that start at circa $100 or less. Casio's cheapest multiband radio time synchronized watch starts at under $30 on Amazon and you are not going to get much more accurate than that, at least in the Northern Hemisphere when within radio reception range of a time signal. Accuracy is cheap these days thanks to electronics while wrist jewelry can be very expensive depending on your budget and tastes.

Man oh man, you make so many excellent points, not to mention make
so much sense Astro. 😉😀 It is pretty amazing, or rather really amazing
the accuracy of Casio’s watches, and really many affordable watches
which are similar. 😉 To me inexpensive quartz watches are wonderful
and I like them so much it’s not even funny. And honestly I have no real
bias either way. These watches you always find for us are just as great
as the mechanical showstoppers we see reported on at watch shows
during the year. (y)(y)

I cannot thank you enough for always shining a light on them !!!
The supposedly most rugged 4 time zone + GMT easy switching Casio watch is the Casio GD400 series G-Shock watch. These are the G-Shocks that come with a factory installed Bullbar assembly to protect the crystal. IMO very rugged looking quite large LCD display watches. Several variations shown on Amazon in the $90 to $105 range so in the affordable category. Definitely a traveler's watch.

Crazy cool watch, but then a crazy cool price Astro.:cool:

Seriously, with those protective bars one would think the watch would be
a bit more, or even a lot more than a regular G-Shock. Because it makes
the watch look meaner, plus actually protects everything. ;)

Impressive, most impressive ! (y)(y) I can't thank you enough for the
post about it !!!
Another less expensive G shock in the same "World Time " category is the G8900-1 G Shock. It does not have the Bullbars protector and has larger side bulge shock protectors but is currently only about $85 on Amazon. It does have the user selectable 4 time zones capability plus GMT time and looks similar to the GD400. All the "World Time" Casio watches seem to have the user selectable 4 time zones feature which allows rapid switching between the 4 user selectable time zones plus GMT time. Great for world travelers, flyers or those with people you phone in other countries for either business or friendship. No fun waking them up at ridiculous hours.

Hey and how about the LCD display too? 😀

It genuinely has a similar feel to the 80’s with the easy to read
as well as easy on the eyes contrast and colors. 😎😉

Yet another A+ find, or report sir. Thank you !!!
I should clarify that the 4 user selectable time zones seem to be limited to the Casio digital "World Time" watches as I checked the manual for a digital/analog version so marked and it was not described as having the 4 time zones capability. An additional "World Time model I spotted is pictured below, the AE-1400 series. This is the steel band version but there are other less expensive options too. Still under $50 on Amazon for this version which seems to be a Japan import as it is not shown on the Casio USA web site.

Man oh man, $50?! 😲

With the steel it looks like it could be $500 or so Astro ! (y)(y)
I mean a lot of times we see collections from Casio as well
as other companies have all different levels of watches and
collections and this looks like a high end Casio. Plus it
is not just looks, it’s World Time aspect and much more with
all the capabilities at the same time.

So neat Astronut, thank you once again !!!
