I'll go first - of my 35 watches -i expect 5 to last 20+ years -the rest will probably be traded away eventually

I highly doubt that I would have ANY of my current watches in 20 years.

If my history proves correct, I will have all new watches within 2-3 years.

However, I would expect ALL of my auto movements to still be running with ease (not so accurate in 20 years, but running)!

I fully expect all of my quartz watches to STOP running within 5 years, and with a battery change, I expect them to continue running until the next battery change.

Who knows what I'll have in 5 years, let alone 20, but with reasonable care, I'd say the MAJORITY of my watches will still be in running order in 20 years.

Style? Maybe nobody would touch these Gigantic watches with a ten foot pole... or perhaps they are 100mm by then. I'm no design visionary.

Where are the Seiko autos, kinetics and Citizen Eco Drives?

I think my Eco Drives will NOT be running in 20 years, but my Seiko automatics will. I'd imagine the Kinetic and ESPECIALLY Spring Drive would last a very long time too.

The only one of my 18 watches that I think will be running in 20 years is my mechanical skeleton. It has a Mechanical Technica Ebauche 2149649 movement and with proper care should run a very long time. I do not hold out the same hope for my automatics and quartz movements.
