I'm grateful

hey guys,

Im posting this to basically say that as a community we sometimes forget how lucky we really are, after watching a tv show tonight about the slums in india where a wealthy lady went there to help people and change their lives, and after watching the terrible events on the news with the terrible situation in Haiti, it seems that i often forget how lucky i am, im sure its the same with you guys?

Realize how rich you are
Often we think that we need more and more money. This, probably, is one of the main reasons that makes us difficult to be grateful. But do you realize how rich you are now? Just go to a global rich list, enter your annual income, and see the result. Chance is, you are richer than billions of other people. In fact, you most likely sit in the top tier of the world’s richness ranking!

Open your eyes to see the good things in your life
We tend to see the bad things that happen in our life but overlook the good things.. Open your eyes and be observant of those good things. Even small things matter. If someone calls you a friend, that’s something you should be grateful for.

These are just a couple of things that i often forget about, it seems that when i look at my watch collection, i focus on what i DONT have, from now on i will try and focus on what i DO have, to back this up i am thinking of selling one of my watches and donating the money to a charity. Thanks for reading guys :)

I learned in my very early 20's that life can go from sugar to crap in an instant & there isn't a day that goes by that I don't count my blessings.

Very good post Dane. I wanted to buy an Invicta just to help support those in Haiti, but seeing that I don't have the funds I like your idea a lot. I'm going to sell one of my watches this upcoming week and then donate the money to help with this cause. Thanks for sharing. I have a friend that wants to buy one of my watches and now I know where the money will go. I was going to try and purchase anotherwatch with the funds, but I can sacrifice the money to help someone else out.

. . . .It's always good to be reminded of how well off we really are. I may not have a lot of money . . . . but I promise you, I want for nothing. Great family, true friends, a home, a job . . . . and watches to boot!!! Thanks for the reminder today Dane . . . .Randy.

Excellent point, Dane. Many people, unfortunately, need to be reminded of this. On the other hand, there are those who have endured times of struggle and have developed an appreciation for even the simplest of things. Regardless, I think it's safe to say that most of us here have a lot for which to be thankful...I know I do.

Dane;

This is certainly a great life lesson. I think that watch collecting is great metaphor for this principle in action. Be happy with your collection. No matter how big or small, how expensive or in-expensive. Be assured that you have more then some and less then others. Enjoy your collection for what it is. Just like life.

As Bill & Ted said......Be excellent to each other and party on dude!
