We all know the Rolex Prince collection well. The "classic", the "brancard", the round or pear-shaped "Imperial". Rather unusual is the "Sporting Prince". Watch that takes a little from the idea of the Movado "Ermeto" but adds springs inside the case chassis so that it can also be used during sporting activities. This example by my friend Giuseppe Carli is truly beautiful.

It's amazing to me how even though these watches are vintage, the ideas
as well as craftsmanship within them seems ahead of a lot of what we will
see today. :);) From designs, to the way movements were made, or
thought up, to those shock absorbing springs right here above. o_O It just
is remarkable the talent as well as minds that came up with everything
I think Valerio.

Oh and by the way, please forgive me, but I was not familiar with the Prince
collection if you can believe it. :giggle: Always am learning here, can't thank you
enough for the lesson !!!

P.S. Why doesn't Rolex have the Prince watches today? I think that would
be terrific if they made them again.

When collecting wristwatches started in the late 80s, Tom, Prince collection were the most expensive... easily almost double the price of steel bubbleback, for example. I agree with you that it would be nice if they still made them...Rolex however is perceived as Oyster and that's it.
