Does anyone know anything about a 1920's Ruxton 10K gold watch.
Its still working after all these years
The band is completely deteriorating
Ive researched the watch and its possible that they were made by Bulova watch company.
Thanks in advance for any info
Barry

Only real way to tell what it is may be to pop the back off and see the movement...

Thanks for the reply it’s definitely not easy to get the back off it seem to be one piece and since it’s working I don’t want to damage it but u are 100% correct the information is genially inside. Maybe I’ll take it to an professional since I’m an amateur and just collector of cool old watches etc Thanks again

A quote from the write up.
Ruxton® is a registered trademark used for watches that were sold by Friedman’s Jewelers, Inc

I also saw some people saying that Ruxton was once owned by Bulova, but I couldn’t find anything definitive. Bulova made a watch named the Bulova Ruxton, so that may be something that confuses people.

I think that if a Jewelry store trademarked it, then there may be several manufacturers they went through to get watches for the store.

That’s Very interesting I’ll do some more research in that direction. I do know It’s from the 1920’s 10kt gold with glow in the dark hands and still works perfect!
thanks again for your response and all your help with research.

Barry, one thing is for sure, the watch is out of this
world cool ! (y) Just the bezel alone is outstanding,
and like anything else. Really is like a piece of art when
you think about it.

Evidently is pretty rare too, and almost like a vintage
limited edition. 🙂 So glad you got some answers !

Yeah for sure the Bezel looks like a gear or a sprocket possibly and I’ve never seen another one like it. You are so right about it is like a work of art to me also. I bought in Franklin NC with another watch dated 1921. I’ll post that one if you like quality rare watches. It’s easy to buy a Omega or Rolex if you have the money but just because no one heard of these unknown or unpopular names no one wants them. Thanks again for your input and info fellow watch enthusiast l

The thanks goes all to you Barry because you are giving us
a lesson on just how incredible, and vast this hobby is. (y)
Just when you think you know a little about watches, or
know something about vintage watch companies. You
find out you have barely scratched the surface. Yowza,
thanks so much for the lesson !

Definitely looking forward to learning more about that
marvel from 1921 by the way ! 🙂
