I mean we seemed to always see them years ago on TV and in
magazines. But I haven’t seen them a ton in recent years. However,
I guess they are still creating some extra cool, AND affordable

I am truly amazed at how they can sell that watch for under the cost you would pay at a fast food restaurant and it is good-looking. People always complain about the cost of things but then you see a versatile watch that can wear and do everything under the sun for such little money

Agreed. Your expectations are present when you drop 20 bucks for a new watch; how could you be disappointed if it functions as described? I think my first square g-shock was 23 from eBay with a bent tang, it looked new and I loved it to death.
That's a fun color scheme astro, and I like the look of it. Congratulations on another cheapy!

One that I ordered arrived today. Diameter is 43mm and it uses a 18mm wide band. No engraved info on the case, just the "V6 Super Speed" and Quartz imprinted on the dials. No claims of water resistance. Mine arrived with the crown of the larger dial loose on the stem so it came off during my first attempt to set the watch. Reinstalled and set the watch strictly by rotating the crown clockwise, in the crown tightening direction. With tax and shipping mine cost about $14. IMO several other dual or triple time zone analog watches are considerably better, but more expensive. Amazon lists several.

Fixed the V6 watch crown loose problem with a very small dab of wicking Loctite application. Loctite can be a real handy item to have on hand.

Excellent value, but my God it's ugly

To me it falls into te same ugliness category as many of the Casio G Shocks, ugly but functional. Plastic cased watches just do not have the same aesthetic appeal as more traditional watches IMO. A LOT less expensive to make though.

Below is a better looking IMO Armitron all digital LCD watch in the $25 range. This is a great night time watch with electroluminescent back light that evenly illuminates the whole quite large dial. Good for astronomy, spelunking and other low light activities. The case and strap are more traditional in design with a relatively soft silicone strap. The crystal is plastic so is subject to potential scratching, not surprising at this price point. The LCD display is about 30mm in diameter and the watch about 51mm overall including the side buttons. Claims to be water resistant to 100 meters.

Here is a steel cased Armitron digital watch model 40/8188 that was on sale a few days ago on Amazon for $10.83 including tax. Not due for delivery until late January 2023 unfortunately. IMO not going to get much less expensive for a name brand stainless steel cased chronograph watch. Currently unavailable for order from Amazon per their listing but it is available from other sources per Google, though probably not at the sale price. Current price on Armitron is $17. IMO not the prettiest watch I have seen but definitely a inexpensive beater steel cased watch with electroluminescent night lighting.

Here is a metal cased dressy LCD digital watch brand I have never heard of until I ran across it on Amazon. Named Yuink and from China (of course). Two versions listed on their Amazon site, dark alphanumerics on a light background and the reverse. For readability I prefer the dark numerals version but far more variations are available in the dark background verison for some reason. Both have electroluminescent night lighting. Claims to be 7mm thick except in one spot where it is listed as 9mm. The 9mm is correct, still quite thin. Case diameter is 44mm, reasonable for current watch fashion. Per reviews the band mounting pins are one piece so if you want or need to install a different band then the band needs to be cut off the pins for installing a NATO style cloth band or the pins cut and replaced with spring pins for a standard 22mm band. The back cover is Casio G Shock style mounted by 4 small corner screws. The display is very easy to read as no extraneous info or lines displayed. Depending on selected display mode and time of day there is a 24 Hr display or a PM display shown in very small characters.

Per Amazon and UPS this is arriving way earlier than originally estimated. Due for delivery tomorrow so I should have an impression posted in the next couple of days. At the sale price it is pretty impressive for a steel cased 100 meter water resistant watch from a USA company, no matter where actually made.
