Did anyone catch this news already?

It seems as if Baselworld is being replaced with a new watch show called
HourUniverse. With this show set to be taking place in April. The same time
Watches & Wonders will be happening. However, unlike Baselworld, parent
company MCH says HourUniverse will be more consumer focused everyone.

Think you are right Scott, and it will fun to see how different the
show actually is. 😉 Almost sounds like it could be more like one
of the cool car shows. Where all the companies are there, but
regular people get to go, and take in the sites. 😀(y)

Thank YOU sir !!!

More like a sign of the greedy times Scott.

By most accounts, Baselworld was really the epicenter of the watch and jewelry world with a fair that lasted almost a week and that used to bring in more than 100,000 visitors from all over the world.

However, Baselworld lost its charm and energy due to the unabashed greed of the MCH Group, the same bunch that laughably claim that "...HourUniverse will be more focussed on the consumer than Baselworld". By saying and doing nothing, they silently endorsed the way their clients were being ripped off in so many ways, like when hotels upped their prices by 500% for the duration of the fairs and in numerous other ways.

Not long after that the Swatch Group and Breitling no longer participated at the fair, followed by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Chanel, Chopard, and Tudor - there could have been more. And so Baselworld screwed itself into oblivion by biting the hand that fed it.

One can only hope that the next effort learns something from the Baselworld debacle
