Not only watch manufacturers but makers of straps (ISOfrane) and bracelets are watching the 'vintage/retro' developments with a clear eye and keen PR. Has anyone heard of the Forstner brand before? I didn't but apparently their Komfit 'JB' mesh band was sanctioned for use on various NASA programs and used as well.

Forstner's stainless steel expandable mesh watch band (called the 'Komfit') was one of the only watch bracelets sanctioned by NASA for manned space missions. It was worn by astronauts throughout the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs, and even made it to the surface of the moon. After a long hiatus, Forstner has reissued and improved this classic watch strap.

Now we all know what will happen, don't we? ;) The bracelet's end links are expandable and depending on the version will fit lug widths between 18 and 22mm. US125$. They look beautiful, vintage and well made and apart from some tweaks they are the same as when they were back in the day. They also produce BOR and riveted bracelets.

Ooh neat Frans ! 🤯😯:D:cool: Nope, have not heard of them actually.
However, I feel like a really should have considering they have such an
amazing history, and were used on NASA missions like you are saying. 🚀
And I think that is one of the coolest parts about the whole vintage/retro
resurgence sir. (y) The fact that we can get a history lesson on things.
As well as get to experience something from years ago, and maybe even
discover something that is out of this world in the process. 😊

Honestly think the whole trend is great sir, and hope it isn't just a trend.
And just is part of the way things are now to tell the truth. ..Can't thank
you enough for the report, along with insight ! ..So now tell us, did you
order one up? Or are you just learning about them, and considering one?

😁Am thinking one of these has taken off, and will maybe be
landing on your doorstep in the next week, or so. 🛰🚀

So will wish you a GIANT congratulations ahead of time if
it indeed has begun it's journey your way sir !!! 😀(y)😉
I ordered it from their UK site, saving some shipping costs and hopefully VAT. I already have a black ISOfrane that came with one of my H2O watches and now this one. So next to to re-issue watches I will have a modest collection of re-issue bands. See where this is going?

My apologies for getting to this late sir.

😀 I do see where it's going Frans, and it is a really fun direction ! (y)(y)

Being in re-issue watch mode is terrific all by itself, but the re-issue
band side of things is outstanding as well. I mean it is also something
you could concentrate on all by itself. However, together with your
re-issue watches it's the perfect combination. Adding even more of
a historical, and stylistic accuracy, as well as just plain fun imho.

Really looking forward to hearing how you like this ! A BIG congrats
ahead of time once again !!!

You are right on the mark. I'm hoping other makers will hop on that bandwagon as well. But not the way the owners of the ISOfrane brand are approaching this because US$ 139 for a rubber strap ($100 for the brand name alone) is a bit steep. Glad I already have one. The Tropic straps (same owner) are $79. I really like the yellow variety, it airs a 60s SCUBA vibe. But the sky is the limit, Omega's white 'NASA' strap for the Speedmaster is a whopping $245!

:) Definitely think there will be more makers joining in on the fun sir. (y)
I mean someone has to help complete the theme of these masterpieces,
and the more the merrier. 😀😉And yes, hopefully, those companies
can be nice, and reasonable price wise. Because overpricing will end up
putting a damper on things.

However, I think in time, there will be more, and more choices, and then
better, and better prices Frans. ..One thing is for sure, it will be a blast to
keep an eye on !

I hope to get it tomorrow or the day after. It'll be quicker on the Lunar Pilot than you can say "That was quick!". (Quote from 'The quick and the Dead').

Well, it’s still with Dutch Customs (since 27 May). Tracking has stopped and I don’t know the inland carrier. If it hasn’t arrived by Friday I’ll have to contact the sender.
