Just received these two beauties in a recent trade and love them both. The Gen 1 is the perfect dress watch with an incredible Hadley Roma Croc dual deployant strap with an ETA 2824 mvt and just a really classic dial.

The GV2 is just awesome. Love the case and dial work on this bad boy and the dual deployant bracelet has the same features similar to a divers flip lock. Wish I could describe better. Oh and the ETA 2836-2 mvt powering the GV2 just seems really cool. I am now a big fan of Gervil watches and this trade has moved me even closer to my goal in moving more toward Swiss auto mvt watches and away from quartz. Not that quartz is bad as I will keep a few I have just decided to go abit of a different direction with the collection. Thanks for looking. Any other Gervil fans out there? I will post some more pic later when I have a moment but for now.......

I have two 1st generation Gevrils.I have both the black and blue dials on the stainless bracelets. The dials are actual hand turned dials and they said it took two or three days just to make each dial. They are very nice watches.Congrats on the new pickups.

I had a Gerbil once. The darn thing kept me up all night running on it's habitrail wheel. I used to have to take his cage and put it...............

What?

Ohhhhh! Gevril.

They make watches, don't they?

Ooops, nevermind. :%

But seriously, those are some rockin' pieces you've picked up. You should be very happy. I'd like to pick up a Gevril someday.

Enjoy and thanks for sharing.

Congrats on your new Gevril watches! :c They are awesome watches :) ENJOY those beauties!

I've owned a bunch of Gevrils over the years and just loved them. Unfortunately as my drive for larger case sizes "won out", I sold them. :WW

I really like the heritage and quality of the first gen watches. :b

If you are interested, here's some of what I used to own . . . http://public.fotki.com/dustbuster4/watch-albums/gevril/

Here is a little more information on the 1st generation.Back when Tim Temple was selling these on ShopAt Home and later JTV he would have some big shot from Gevril on with him. They said that the cases and bracelets for these watches were made back between 1995 and 1998when the previous owner was trying to revive the company. When the new owner bought the company they found these cases still in the factory. The new owner loved the design and decided to finish production and added fresh movements. The owner even came to JTV for one of their sales and signed some of the boxes. One of mine ie signed and one isn't.Even though the watches are not marked they are supposed to be a limited edition of 500 per dial color.The1st generations that were completely made between 95 and 98 had a unscrewed crown indicator in the dial. There was a hole in the dial that turned red if the crown was unscrewed. That is the way you can tell the difference.
