Ford Facing Lawsuit In “Limited Edition” Dispute

Ford Motor Co. is facing a class-action lawsuit filed by customers who purchased the “limited edition” 2007 Roush Stage 3 BlackJack, after it was discovered the model was not so “limited” after all. Ford advertised that only one hundred of these models would be made, charging consumers the premium price of $59,000. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, alleges Ford and Roush Performance Products Inc. manufactured one hundred additional cars in 2008, making the vehicles not as unique as advertised. At least one hundred people are involved in the lawsuit, seeking a jury trial and damages of more than $12 million.

Is this perfect timing or what?

:lol

You gotta wonder how often this kind of "LE" shenanigans goes on that we never hear about!?:wf

I don't see the problem here, LE 2007 and a LE 2008. Scion puts out a LE called the Release Series for each of their cars every year. The number made is different each year and they change them up each year with diff. colors and accessories. I could see a problem if they were produced in the same year.

haha, that made me laugh... what else is using this limited edition now?? Water?? Air?? :%:%:%

I guess the court will decide. I would not hold my breath waiting on a check from this suit.

Case in point, this suit was filed in August 2008, and does not appear to be going to trial anytime soon.

I love you Ford and I don't care how many you made. And whatever response you supply the customers with is OK by me and greatly appreciated. I can't believe the number of people complaining about this, geez....it's no big deal.

Your Ever Loving Customer,

Daniel Mink

In a tough economy, Ford had to do it.

Dear Bill Ford:
PLEEZE don't stop making those wunnerful carz!

I don't care if they are limited edition or special productions. FORD gives you better quality for the money than anybody...

because of this shrinking economy these car makers are doing the same thing all the other American companies are doing, just fighting like all the kids wanting to play with the same toy, none are selling alot of cars so every little thing that goes wrong the others become rats and go tell on them to the public, when ours are better slogan don't work then they try there's is worse slogan becomes everybody else's.

Bottom line no matter who it is. $$$$$$$$$$ WHAT A COINCIDENCE. :%:%:%:%

doesn't matter if the production was done in 2007 then 2008.same car.100.not 200.

I bought number 411/1500 of the 2007 nismo. the final production ended in 2008.but only 1500 in total.if they made another 1500 I'd sue.I paid a hefty premium for this.unlike watches, these limited cars have a host of modifications that none of the production cars have or can order.try and get the front splitter on my car.you can't.I broke mine.the dealer ordered another one and mine had to be returned.all parts are numbered.so if you have a 2007 350z, you can't get the aerodynamic package that the nismo uses.at least not from nismo whos based in kioto japan.

I just heard that in a compromise Ford is going to start "limited production" runs of their cars. This will allow them to do additional runs if they want in the future.

For their "limited edition" models they will simply just start the numbering higher then the previous run. So if you purchased #5 of 15,000 rest assured that there will never be another #5. BUT there will be a 15001 - 4,000,000,000,000,000 available early next year at a greatly discounted price.

Thanks for being a customer and your loyalty!
